Dragon Ball Online
4Gamer reports that Bandai Namco Games has announced Dragon Ball Online. It will start beta test in Korea in summer, and is planned for official service in Japan in 2008. Just a while back this game was almost cancelled even though it was almost complete, because of expensive licensing issues with Bandai Namco Games. Apparently they’ve solved the licensing issues and Toriyama will be supervising the production of the game.

It looks okay on the screenshots, though I’m not a big fan of cellshading. Does it say anything about how the gameplay will be? It looks like it is just grinding like in any other mmorpg, just using plasma balls instead of swords.

I…I really don’t know how this will work out. I mean…won’t everyone just end up blowing up the planet they are on in an attempt to get experience points?
And believe me, everyone’s probably gonna run around shouting “Over Nine Thousand!” for no apparent reason.

Hopefully the fights end quicker than on TV, else this one will be too time consuming.

There will be a group of people called Yamucha who lose every fight and are destined to lose their girlfriends to Vegeta.
