Famitsu game awards 2006

famitsu.jpgThe Famitsu game awards 2006 were held on the 20th of April and the winners have been announced. The awards were given based on votes from Famitsu readers(31933 votes) and chosen by the Famitsu team. Games released between January 2006 to December 2006 were eligible for the award.

Game of the year: Final Fantasy 12
Game of the year: Pokemon Diamond / Pearl
Rookie award: Blue Dragon
Best hit: Pokemon Diamond / Pearl
Innovation award: Wii sports
Rearrange award: New Super Mario Bros.
High performance award: Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess
Dramatic award: Ryu ga gotoku 2
Game design award: Okami
Multiplayer award: Monster Hunter 2
Impact award: Dead Rising
Portable award: Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops
RPG award: Persona 3
Most Valuable Person: Sakaguchi Hironobu (Mist Walker)
Game character of the year: Mario
Game company of the year: Nintendo

    Impact award? High performance award? I sometimes get the feeling they’re just making up awards so they can award it to a specific game.
