So far the changes (order of the pilots, earlier awareness by the authorities, tattoos and symbolism, etc) that have been made to the anime version have all been very well done in my book. I think it's an improvement to the original manga. But that's not to say that the manga isn't great as it is read on it's own. It's also important to note, that characterisation of all the characters so far in the anime against the manga are exact and I think that's really important in adapting any manga into anime or movie or tv series. I assume what the director is really trying to say is that the die-hard fans of the Bokurano manga, please don't bother him with hate mail/comments. I’m a fan of both the anime and manga version of Bokurano. If the manga will give a bad end, then the anime will give a good end. It's always good to have 2 different versions when you have the original thats the manga anyways. Sometimes I think it's so boring to have the anime go exactly like the manga... of course there are cases like Dgray man when they have shit ass fillers... and Naruto.. and Bleach... Well there’s no way I’ll stop watching the anime. If the manga will give a bad end, then the anime will give a good end.
