Gurren Lagann online game ends in closed beta

anusonline.jpgKonami has announced that Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann Chouzetsu Hakkutsu ONLINE has ended service due to problems that arose during software installation during their closed beta. The game was supposed to be some kind of online trading card game where you drill for pictures from the anime.

Apparently, when you install the game, it’d corrupt your Windows registry and completely mess Windows up with no way to fix the problem unless you reinstalled Windows. Konami apparently then mailed 500GB external hard drives together with backup software to users so they can back up all their software while reinstalling windows.

You’d think they’d catch that kind of crippling glitch before sending the software out.

Well, that’s what betas are for, right?
    Catching errors….?

  3. Zotmeister Says:

Not errors of THAT magnitude. That’s what alpha testing is for, so that the only permanently-corrupted computers are in-house… - ZM

Maybe the game had too much burning passion for any version of windows to handle it.

  5. RaptorFB Says:

The burning souls of men had burned away the feeble operating systems they were placed on.

Poor thing, well I can’t say a card game would’ve been my thing anyway. That’s what Beta(s) are for-too get guinipigs test their stuff and fix the problems.
