Negima TV drama to run for 2 seasons
Negima author Akamatsu wrote on his blog a few days ago that the Negima TV drama, Mahou Sensei Negima! Parallel, will run for 2 seasons (24~26 episodes). I don’t know if the world is ready for half a year of awesome Negima TV drama!
He also mentions in the same post that Negima will be appearing in a variety of media at the same time next year, which led to a lot of speculation from fans that he is hinting that a movie is being made. And in his newest entry, he says that they’ll consider a 3rd anime series if there is enough demand from the fans.
I follow the negima comic and all, but I still don’t understand how it manages to be as popular as it is.

Dude, I am telling you…. Negima is the next Gundam ! Within 5 years, it will (or maybe it has, looking at Pani Poni Dash) spawn more off-shoots, and within a decade, and even two, it will have more incarnations.
I’m hoping Akamatsu will finish the original comic by the 32nd volume (it’d be the wising thing to do: a volume for every girl in the class), but, gauging from its popularity, and the level of flexibility the situation alone can have (seriously, think of the number of possible combinations for 31 oddball students with one Harry Potter teacher…. It’d be infinity to the power of infinity), Akamatsu can expect official, unofficial, imitations and even parodies of this one work.
But I look forward to that. What I really want to see is Negima See Destiny…. oh hell yeah. If Gundam could become Seed Destiny, then the same should apply to Negima. Hell, even a Negima G would make a cool, but deviant choice.

“It’s a good thing Ken Akamatsu really likes money.”

My magic 8-ball says that it probably won’t work.
However, I would LOVE to see another anime season. Have it go back to Xebec. And tell them to do it right this time. Oh, and tell ‘em to include Koutarou as well.
