Axe murder again

hayarimasuyo.jpgA 15 year old boy cut his 44 year old father’s head with an axe today, the father is not dead yet and the boy has been arrested for attempted murder. Higurashi ep 12 had a pretty good chance that it’d air on Sun TV, Chiba TV, and TV Saitama tonight, but with this news in the morning, I guess not…

    What’s with kids and assaulting their parents with axes these days? Is it a new fad?

    Axes exude a more masculine presence of raw power compared to a normal knife since they’re heavier and harder to handle. If anything, using an axe is a demonstration of extreme rebellion against an authority figure, which in this case is their parents.

    Also know that Axes have a high power attribute, though a low accuracy stat. This combined with that the kid probably wasn’t that strong meant that the father was lucky(or had a good SPD stat) and only got a glancing hit.

    I guess the news is all over the place in newscasts on every channel by now. Surely more of an incentive for wannabe berserker kids than some piece of animated fiction in a late-night TV spot, but you can’t really the media to practice logic and self-criticism, can you. Scape-goating is oh so much easier.

    Well, there are two murders that were not caused by either School Days or Higurashi2. The second one just might have been caused by publicity about the first, though. Maybe all local news shows should be banned.
