Overflow announces special preview event for the final episode of School Days

Tuesday, September 25th, 2007

whatthehell.jpgIn commemoration of the release of the first DVD of the School Days anime, Overflow, the makers of the game, has announced that they are holding a special preview event for the final episode of the anime within the week. There is limited seating and there are requirements to be able to attend the event.

The wonderful requirement is you need to show them that you own either a copy of the School Days game or Summer Days. However, your copy of the game has to be UNOPENED. If you ever opened your game even once, you’re not allowed to the screening. (They’ll open the packaging for you as you enter, which defeats the purpose of not opening the packaging after all this time)

I don’t think more needs to be said about how stupid this is.

AT-X still hasn’t said anything regarding the final episode of School Days, but this announcement seems to be saying that AT-X won’t be airing it and they want to make some quick cash.

World’s first Vocaloid unit

Tuesday, September 25th, 2007

ivemadaaa.jpgdRESS from music group ave;new is at it again posting a Vocaloid version of snow of love and revealing plans to form the world’s first music unit called new;LOVELOID with Hatsune Miku as 3 vocalists, even saying that he’ll compose original songs for the unit.

They sounded pretty serious. I guess that means we can expect to see Vocaloid featured on ave;new albums come year end!? I’ve needs to keep up with ave;new and do more stupid things like this too.

Vocaloid was last mentioned here and here

The news seems to be real. Why do these people in the anime industry seem to die early…

Higurashi ep 12

Monday, September 24th, 2007

woohoo.jpgHigurashi episode 12 just started airing on TV Saitama now. The other two TV stations will be airing Higurashi episode 12 in 30 mins and they haven’t announced that they’re taking Higurashi off tonight too, so I guess that’s the end of the nice boats.

Axe murder again

Sunday, September 23rd, 2007

hayarimasuyo.jpgA 15 year old boy cut his 44 year old father’s head with an axe today, the father is not dead yet and the boy has been arrested for attempted murder. Higurashi ep 12 had a pretty good chance that it’d air on Sun TV, Chiba TV, and TV Saitama tonight, but with this news in the morning, I guess not…

Thanks to a comment in a previous news post for the tip off

Become a game designer in 6 months

Saturday, September 22nd, 2007

wontbemakingthis.jpgTokyo Game Designer School is introducing a new instant game designer course which will teach you everything there is from game design to game programming in the short period of 6 months. It’s for people who quit their jobs to pursue their dream in the gaming industry, but can’t study over a long period.

I’m guessing the employment rate for people who go through this course would probably be 5% or something.

Adult Video Visual Arts Academy

Friday, September 21st, 2007

tmamitaininaritai.jpgAdult Video maker Hot Entertainment is apparently starting an AV Visual Arts Academy to breed and train hopefuls to become professionals in the industry. They are slated to start courses in 2007 autumn and are currently offering courses for male AV counterparts, directors, and producers.

No courses for female AV stars! (not surprisingly?)

Tiny update on Higurashi and School Days

Friday, September 21st, 2007

nicekyoto.jpgAT-X hasn’t made any announcement regarding School Days episode 12 yet, but they aired Higurashi ep 11 on the 20th apparently, which was after the murder, so some are suspecting they might actually continue airing the episodes for both anime as if nothing ever happened.

KBS Kyoto introduced Kyoto then ran a feature on the history of Scotland and England in place of Higurashi’s timeslot today.

How to axe an anime

Thursday, September 20th, 2007

jcastsine.jpgNews site J-Cast goes onto 2ch and sees people joking about how the murder’s like higurashi, and writes an article saying that people on the internet are pointing to higurashi as being related to the murder. Sanspo, trying not to lose out, writes a news article saying the same thing.

TV show “Move!” picks up the news and runs it on TV.
