No more Higurashi!?
TV Saitama just announced in the middle of Higurashi episode 13 that they are completely taking Higurashi no naku koro ni kai off and they will no longer be airing any future episodes.
Update: Sun TV and Chiba TV finished airing episode 13 without any announcements about cutting the anime, so they’re still safe for now.
Currently, Toukai TV and TV Saitama will no longer air Higurashi, and KBS Kyoto hasn’t announced anything. If anything I guess AT-X will be around to save the day in the end…

Wonderful……just frickin wonderful. Now that’s just one show that I will never get to see the end of even if it did have a chance of coming to the US now that Geneon is pretty much about out of the business with all the “downsizing” that is going on with them.
This hurts……badly.

Don’t be so sure. I’m watching the first half of ep 13 on Nicovideo right now. Caps from the entire episode have been posted on 2chan.

TV Saitama announced that they will no longer be airing any future episodes. Episode 13 is the last episode they aired.

I severely doubt anything will disrupt AT-X’s broadcasting, since they aired the horrifying mess that is School Days 12.
It’s not like there’s anything super violent in Matsuribayashi anyway.

Maybe it’s a good time for the Japanese anime industry to stop glorifying murder and such.
There are those of use who like Japan for their samurai, ninja, and courageous originality. The last thing I want to see is Japan scraping the bottom of the barrel just like the US. :(

I found this because a good artist suggested a game, and Canned Dogs just happened to have this right next door, but…
The end of Higurashi? I just started it! D: I thought the first 3 or so episodes was great! And I rarely get into an anime since they’re mostly shoujo.
