Barnum studio speaks up about Kodomo no Jikan
Barnum studio, one of the animation studios involved in the production of the Kodomo no Jikan anime, has posted on their blog regarding the recent case where TV Saitama decided to remove Kodomo no Jikan from their TV schedule.
Apparently, the advertising agency and product makers are in a mess now, and the anime studio is not sure about the situation themselves as they were not even contacted by TV Saitama about the decision.
The blog writer believes that although it is already a big problem for the TV station to be removing the anime without any saying a word after receiving the money and after advertising that the anime would be starting soon, the bigger problem is with the people working at the TV station that think so lightly of such a decision.
The TV stations are licensed by the country and they have the right to do as they please with the contents that they put on the air even if they haven’t paid a cent in the production of the particular TV show.
The blog author feels that there is no future in the Japanese entertainment industry if they do not do something about these TV stations that would decide not to air TV shows at the last minute without considering that the sponsors have already paid for everything and that fans have been anticipating the upcoming TV show.
Personally, I think everything will probably be really toned down in anime for the next 3 years after all this rubbish because nobody would dare to do anything extreme in case the anime gets cut off the air.

Oh man…
Then again, it’s a good and bad decision. Some would want for more tasteful anime this days, and there’ only so much gore, guro, carnage and lust we can take. Of course, the side of me that believes in intellectual freedom and liberalism is against this.
Meh… I just hope there’d be an avenue for Kodomo.

I think what Seto Kaiba said in the YuGiOh Abridged series applies here:
SCREW THE RULES I HAVE MONEY :V

It was only a matter of time.
What have I been saying? “Keep your ero where it belongs; in ero.” If you’re going to animate something that’s based on an eroge, have it become ero-anime.
What happened?
Gore, pedophilia, the reality-challenged hygiene-challenged otaku blobs “living” at 24-hour manga-filled maid cafes, and then murders.
Life imitating art and vice versa. The “moe monster” had gotten stuck in the loop and had now ate its own vital organs. Yeah.
A lot of toned down anime will be toned down. +100 points for Saitama!

Hmmp! is that how it is?
So what’s next? Closing down Axe Manufacturing Firms? Stupid, plain stupid, really, not all people think like psychopaths. Can you ban 24, heroes, lost, for these same reasons?

I think all television should be about fruit… Oranges, apples, peaches… And maybe sometimes bananas, if it’s tasteful and censored. :D

Looks like Talibans have already got their world domination,as planned. Goobye, free speech, hello dictatorship.

If it was really done by the Taliban; then we’d get news about anime companies being blown up. (Remember, Japan is trying to portray Middle Easterners in a good like; Setsuna from Gundam 00.)
It’s not about free speech. It’s where the line gets drawn and who draws it.
The guy who played Kramer in Sienfeld said the “n-word” 5 times on a comedy stage. His career is over. Don Imus called a hard-working female basketball team “nappy-headed hoes.” And he’s BEEN fired.
So yes, people are calling to bring good taste and restraint back. Plus, even the most evil of salespeople know that you can’t just cater to a niche market and survive too long.
