The Tomboyish Witches
Studio Siesta has announced The TOMBOYISH WITCHES, an English version of their horizontal scrolling shooter Trouble Witches. They’re planning to sell the English version to foreign audiences only and will not be selling it within Japan. I don’t know why they had to change the title but yeah.
I’d thought they wouldn’t have anything happening for a while after that drama with their leader that happened late September, but they don’t seem to be having any problems.

What was the trouble with their leader? Missed that bit of news.
It really is a great game though. Been having even more fun with it ever since the secret character has been unlocked.

I didn’t make a post about it because it seemed too dirty, but the leader Tsuji made a post on their own BBS under a different name and bashed touhou as being a really shitty game compared to trouble witches which is arcade quality.
He got caught because the BBS logged the IPs in the comments and anybody could view the IP if they checked the source for the page.
The story can get a little long after that, but basically the leader has stepped down now.
So the leader is out now, but it has created a pretty bad impression of their doujin circle as a whole. (though they already kinda had a bad reputation with their game patching in previous games)

Bummer about the leader having to step down but if he was stupid enough to pull something like that on his own IP then maybe he needed to go… -_-; Otaku should know better than to insult other otaku in the industry by now… Not a way to make friends and influence people…
I just wish they would have given some more details on this overseas version… My copy of the retail release via Tora no Ana should be arriving at the beginning of next month. Looking forward to it.

So if they’re not selling it within Japan… how ARE they planning on selling it? Some digital distributor? I couldn’t see them either getting a publisher or trying direct sales…

For those who maybe haven’t noticed it yet but this site od have an english department. Granted content wise it sucks vs the JP one.
