Hatsune Miku manga to start in Comic RUSH

tamanegi.jpgMoonphase reports that a Hatsune Miku manga called Hatsune Mix! will start serialization in Comic RUSH starting from the 2008 January issue. The author is going to be none other than KEI, the artist who did the original character design for Hatsune Miku.

I don’t know, KEI has primarily been an illustrator and hasn’t done any professional manga work before. I have a bad feeling about this…

    I do want to check it out, but I think a lot of appeal of characters like Miku is their personality is created by lots of web contributors, in the case of Miku, people make songs, videos, and artwork which works together to make up who she is. Something “offical” might take away some of the fun. Maybe as little comic strips it could work out…

    Hmm…..well one of the reasons why Miku has become known so quickly is Miku just happens to chance upon the age where youtube has made online streaming videos a common place. Her popularity would not be as great if it wasn’t for sties like nico video and youtube.

    Not strictly true; it seems he’s done some work on Paniponi anthologies in the past. In addition, he has a large repertoire of monochrome doujinshi to his name. I’m eagerly anticipating his Miku manga. :3

    Oh I didn’t know he did some anthology work before, thanks for the tip! I wonder how his work looked like in there.

    I got a few of his marimite doujinshi last year, but… it wasn’t professional manga, so I don’t know how his work would look like when he puts 100% into it.

    I really really want the manga. but some one on youtube said she died. *has videos to prov: but still I love miku!
