Hatsune Miku is in the list of titles that’ll be featured at their booth…? Seems too early to be announcing a Hatsune Miku anime… maybe a music cd?

Google usage in Japan sure dropped by a huge chunk since the Hatsune Miku case. They’re even behind Ask.jp now…

i dont see how miku can make a whole chain of islands stop using google though
… and how the fuck is yahoo of any relevance these days?

The Hatsune Miku case was pretty huge on 2ch, which also caused IT news sites to be reporting about it every other day.
Either way people stopped using google because they suspect a conspiracy or because they realised Live search was better.

Most normal users use Live because it’s default on their Windows boxes. Same reason most users use IE. Japan is very MS-centric in term of computer and web tech. Most commercial sites use IIS and MS media technologies. Otakus are the most prolific internet uses, and if they stopped using google, google will be hit hard.
Yahoo is a HUGE deal in Japan and rest of Asia. Yahoo Auctions #1 in Japan; even ebay can’t beat it.
