Telenet Japan closes
Tokei News reports that Telenet Japan, once famous for games such as Valis and Arcus has closed down after 24 years of business. Man, I guess all those last ditch efforts of selling their games to eroge didn’t work. Maybe Tri-ace will take their property and make a new Valis game again…!?

This is a tragedy… though it proves that you don’t necessarily need sex to sell a game (KEY learnt that lesson), let alone revive interest in it.
I do hope a remake may come again… and one that it isn’t necessarily eroge.

A new Valis and Arcus would be most appreciated indeed. Btw, may I know where you got that Valis pic from?

(what about the Mahou no shoujo Silky Lip remake, then ? Dropped, not dropped ?)

Yeah, this was a little unexpected… With the “older” titles of the 80s getting new reincarnations (Contra 4 anyone?), I would’ve loved to see another Valis. And not that I mind the eroge stuff, but has anyone played them? Are they still action platformers? Or are they just date-sim drivel?

The Silky Lip game will still be made because it was already sold to Waffle and Waffle’s the one that’s making the game.
And… the Valis eroge were all date-sim style.
