Fate/Unlimited Codes

Wednesday, November 14th, 2007

2djyanainoka.jpgThe coming issue of Famitsu has revealed that Capcom will be releasing a arcade 3D Fate/Stay night game called Fate/Unlimited Codes in 2008. The game will be developed by 8ing, and cavia seems to be involved somehow.

The feature mentions Shirou and Tohsaka as characters, but neither of them appear in the in-game battle screenshots, so it’s not known if the masters will be playable characters or act as supporting characters.

5000 yen Leek

Tuesday, November 13th, 2007

leek.jpgWedge Holdings has announced that they will be selling 5000 yen ($45 USD) Leeks through the shopping site tanomikomu. These Leeks aren’t real, they’re plastic and for display purposes. Apparently they started selling these because of Hatsune Miku, the webpage even looks identical to Hatsune Miku’s page

Each leek is made by hand by craftsmen so you can be assured of the highest quality leek spinning.

bakabakka.jpgThe TV drama version of Negima is planning to release a single of the OP & ED for Baka ranger. Apparently the ep where they appear will be directed and written by veteran sentai people, maybe it’ll be worth taking a look…

takee.jpgA Pinky Street figure that was modified to look like Hatsune Miku has sold for 41,000 yen on Yahoo Auctions.

byeni.jpgTMA has put up a second trailer for Kira Star, their Lucky Star parody AV film. It’s called Lucky Station this time and it’s a parody of Lucky Channel. They really got Goro-chan to play Shiraishi… (Work safe)

Washinomiya City to sell Lucky Star goods

Monday, November 12th, 2007

oseeeyo.jpgThe Washinomiya commerce and industry association has started plans to start selling original Lucky Star cellphone straps carved using their local wood at the Washinomiya shrine and participating shops to attract more visitors to the city.

This is the same Washinomiya shrine where a local resident had previously raised concerns over otaku visiting the area because Lucky Star was based on real life spots in the area, which created some commotion resulting in the entire thing getting featured on TV.

The chairman for the local commerce and industry association also comments that they plan to continue to use anime to attract people to their city.

The Washinomiya area has been pretty much infected by Lucky Star:

Vocaloid 2 CV2 Kagamine Rin

Tuesday, November 6th, 2007

tokachi.jpgA photo from the next issue of DTM magazine has been leaked, revealing that the second character voice in the Vocaloid 2 series will be called Kagamine Rin, and the character voice will be by Shimoda Mami. They plan to release the new version of Vocaloid 2 in December.

Shimoda Mami has been pretty famous in nico douga as the tokachi girl from Idolmaster, I wonder if they picked her because of Hatsune Miku’s popularity in nico douga too.

Jump Square sold out in many places

Monday, November 5th, 2007

ureruna.jpgAkibablog and Otaroad blog reports that the newly launched monthly manga magazine Jump Square is sold out in most shops across Akihabara and Nipponbashi. I’d thought they were crazy when they announced they were going to have a print run of 500,000 copies on the first issue, but I guess it’s a big success.

The magazine targets both males and females at a 6:4 ratio within the age group of 15 to 25. Meaning one of the manga in the magazine is about the wonderful friendship between two handsome men that keep having their clothes taken off every other page.

TISTA was pretty cool though. …And Chaos Kitchen.

Miku blaster

Sunday, November 4th, 2007

yanyo.jpgMiku blaster is a horizontal scrolling shooter by Komatsunaya which features Hatsune Miku shooting down text that resembles comments that are on nico douga. A video of the game can be viewed here. It might feel good to shoot down comments from other people or something.

Manga: Kamisama dolls

Saturday, November 3rd, 2007

kamisama1.jpg

Kamisama dolls is a manga by Yamamura Hajime about a bunch of people who are able to control dolls which are supposedly the empty shells of gods. The Gurren Lagann director Imaishi Hiroyuki is apparently also a long time fan of the author and recommends the book! (or so the spine card says)
