Hoshi no Samidare - The Lucifer and the Biscuit Hammer is a manga by Mizukami Satoshi about a guy in modern day Japan who was chosen to become a knight with magical powers and is asked to protect the princess and save the world from impending destruction via a gigantic hammer in space.

College student Amamiya Yuuhi wakes up one day and finds a talking lizard in his bed who tells him that he is one of the chosen knights and he has to protect the princess from the evil wizard or the world is doomed. He refuses.

However he has already been chosen and the lizard does not leave him alone. And to help him with his mission, he is given special telekinetic powers, with which he shows that he is a real man and lifts skirts with his powers.

Amamiya is completely apathetic to the situation and says that he’ll leave the mission to save the world to the other chosen knights instead. However he almost gets killed by a clay golem sent by the evil wizard, with which his telekinetic powers are completely useless against. Then he gets saved by Asahina Samidare, the princess who he is supposed to protect.

Asahina Samidare has super human strength and is able to kill the clay golems with a single blow, whereas Amamiya Yuuhi the knight isn’t even able to escape from a single clay golem. Amamiya is completely certain that he doesn’t want to get involved at all.

That is, until Asahina Samidare reveals to him that she wants to save the world, only so she can destroy the world with her own hands.

Amamiya pledges his complete loyalty.

One of the reasons why this manga is interesting is how the manga has author Mizukami Satoshi’s signature style of constantly keeping a level of tension in the story while also maintaining a light hearted mood through the story at the same time.

The manga currently runs in Young King OURS and the tankoubon have been released up till volume 4.
