Scarlett for PS2

oseeee.jpgNekoneko soft has announced that they will be porting Scarlett, their final game before they closed, to the PS2. According to the Nekoneko soft diary, all the Cotton soft guys will be coming back to work with Kataoka Tomo again, so the old team is back again to make the PS2 version.

Secretly I wish Tomo would quit making doujin games on his own and join Cotton soft already. It’s also a secret that I didn’t play Narcissu.

Well, Kataoka Tomo wanted to reach a larger, more mainstream audience than just Japanese otaku, which is why he spent so much time and money polishing Narcissu Side 2nd. Unlike the original game, this was made with the purpose of attracting the masses both inside and outside Japan (hence the English-language homepage and the contact with fan translators early on).

Kataoka seemingly wants to break into film or TV, with Hollywood being the ultimate dream. However, I can’t say I’m too optimistic about this endeavour.

But yeah eroge -> mainstream media is a bit of a reach.
Needs at least ONE good adaption somewhere along the line too.ll
