Canned Dogs

Just when I mentioned about the Maid Taxi service that was in Ishikawa in a recent post, I get the news that the service has ended after 3 months in service! Reason was that they were licensed as a social-welfare taxi service, but there was a flood of healthy people faking injuries.

Apparently that breaks the transportation laws because they were only licensed to carry handicapped people or people that have trouble getting around on their own. They didn’t have a reliable way to tell if a guy is lying about his injuries, and they were risking breaking the law, so they decided to stop the service altogether.

This is a different service from the moe taxi booking service, in case anyone’s confused.
