Scarlett for PS2

Sunday, December 9th, 2007

oseeee.jpgNekoneko soft has announced that they will be porting Scarlett, their final game before they closed, to the PS2. According to the Nekoneko soft diary, all the Cotton soft guys will be coming back to work with Kataoka Tomo again, so the old team is back again to make the PS2 version.

Secretly I wish Tomo would quit making doujin games on his own and join Cotton soft already. It’s also a secret that I didn’t play Narcissu.

Behind the No More Heroes launch event

Saturday, December 8th, 2007

nomorecustomers.jpgThe much anticipated Wii game No More Heroes had a launch event held at Sofmap Amusement on the 6th of December with director Suda Gouichi and producer Wada Yasuhiro at the scene to distribute toilet paper and sign copies of the game.

The event was widely covered by the gaming press, but apparently there was another story behind it.

Akibablog reports that when the event opened and they started selling the game, nobody bought the game even after waiting for 20 minutes. So apparently one of the press reporters at the scene that looked like he was from Enterbrain / Famitsu went to buy a copy and get the game signed instead while all the reporters at the scene took photos of him.

Yamadera Kouichi makes 60 million yen a year

Saturday, December 8th, 2007

kanemochi.jpgThis article on infoseek news is reporting about seiyuu Yamadera Kouichi’s divorce with his seiyuu wife Kanai Mika which was known some time ago, but what’s also interesting is that it also reveals that Yamadera’s yearly income is between 50 million yen to 60 million yen. (450,000 USD to 540,000 USD)

Interesting if you were wondering how much current top class seiyuu are making. Hayashibara Megumi was reportedly making between 80 million yen to 100 million yen during the peak of her career too.

You can compare that to new seiyuu that make 15,000 yen (135 USD) per episode that they appear in and have to work part-time in convenience stores to pay the bills.

Great Danboard

Friday, December 7th, 2007

deka.jpgThe revoltech Danboard figure from Yotsubato was released recently and it has been selling fast among fans, but this particular fan didn’t think that regular Danboard was enough and decided to combine 5 Danboard figures to form the Great Danboard.

There’s no way Yotsuba can stand up against Miura missiles.

And Misato Mitsumi won’t be at the winter Comic Market too because she’s apparently overwhelmed by the amount of work that she has in her hands for To Heart 2 Another Days.

Kagamine Rin / Len

Monday, December 3rd, 2007

sausage.jpgCrypton has updated their official blog with the announcement that Vocaloid CV02 will actually be called Kagamine Rin / Len and will contain two voice banks, one of a boy and one of a girl, both voiced by Shimoda Asami. Both will be sold together in the same package and the price would stay the same.

Apparently they’ve managed to do something like this because Hatsune Miku was a huge hit and they’ve got a lot more budget this time on the production of CV02.

On a slightly related note, Koge Donbo, author of Kamichama Karin and Pitaten, has been drawing and posting on nico douga again.
