Sakura Taisen cafe to close on the 30th of March

oogamisaaaan.jpgImpress Game Watch reports that Taishou Romando & Sakura Cafe, the Sakura Taisen themed cafe and store in Ikebukuro GiGO, will be closing for good on the 30th of March. The reason that Sega gives for closing it is that after being up for 10 years, it has served its purpose of communicating with the fans.

The Taishou Romando store was established on 13th June 1998 selling Sakura Taisen merchandise, and it expanded in July 2003 and started the Sakura Cafe.

They will be holding 18 talk shows featuring the character seiyuu people and the creator of the series over the next two months as a closing down event.

The store wouldn’t have died if Sakura Taisen 4 and 5 didn’t exist :(

When I heard this news I felt like a part of me had died. It’s sad that despite the fact that these game were my youth, and I never even made it there.

Then again I think every Sakura fan knew what was happening as soon as we found out the DS entry was going to be a Mystery Dungeon game… That’s the final nail the in the coffin, 4 and 5 were just the first ones.

I’m surprised it lasted this long, and I’ll be sad to lose my pilgrimage for every time I go to Tokyo. You can hang me for it but I loved even 4 and 5. Wish I could go one last time and find the page my friend and I filled in their guest book.

    Hang me too, i love 4, but 5 stinks…

i had the chance to visit this store twice a few years ago, this is a very surprising and sad news… as a French fan of the Hanagumi, still waiting for the day I’m attending one of their live show, i’m shedding a tear…
