Another Higurashi port again, now on DS

mouiiyo.jpgThe latest famitsu has revealed that yet another port of Higurashi is in the works once again, this time for the DS. They plan to release the game in 4 parts, with a total of 7 newly written chapters over the 4 games. The first volume will be released 26th June.

I don’t know how many renditions of Higurashi they actually want to release. I love Higurashi and all, but who’s going to read the same story so many times anyway!?

7 new chapters sounds great though, but it’s probably not worth buying 4 games at 3990 yen each for the new stuff…

    Considering that games like Gyakuten Saiban are working very nice in the US, i wondering if Atlus USA or someone can be interested in this game…

    I DO think the sideways orientation is a really good idea for visual novels.

    This may open the door for a lot of people who have always wanted to see what the fuss was about, but found the existing versions impractical.

    New chapters ? May be useful if they plan yet another season after the one supposed to come out this year XD

    This is sad. I’d like to consider myself a pretty big Higurashi fan but they’re really just milking the cash cow now… I wish Ryukishi07 would just but this series to rest.

    So far the majority of his new game chapters haven’t really been worthy of the purchases IMO. Matsuri’s new chapters where pretty meh and the only manga side story I’ve ~really~ enjoyed has been Yoigoshi-hen. Then they throw out Kakera Asobi, which is basically how Matsuri ~should~ have been handled in the first place.

    Speaking of 07th Expansion though, what are the odds of you posting your thoughts on the second chapter of Umineko?

    Need one for the PSP ;-;

    With all its homebrew capabilities, I don’t see why not >

    It’s official. Higurashi will be milked forever.

    Posting my thoughts on the second chapter of Umineko is not very likely!

    Because I haven’t even put the CD into my PC yet.

    I’ve completely forgotten about it actually, I should try to play and finish it this weekend, since I heard it takes only ~10 hours to finish.
