Expensive stuff

muteki.jpg3 years after Vstone first released the Tetsujin 28 robot for sale to the public, they’ve now announced that they are planning to sell a robot of Black Ox too. It’s apparently a lot more advanced than their tetsujin 28 robot and can move a lot more fluidly. (and is controlled by a PS3 controller)

The release date and price have not been announced, but the original Tetsujin 28 robot cost 350,000 yen (3,450 USD) and cost an additional 80,000 yen (790 USD) for them to assemble the parts for you, and they expect the Black Ox robot to sell for a similar price.

A figure of Astro boy made out of pure gold is going on sale for 1,000,000 yen (9,800 USD) too. It’s about 65mm in height and weighs 80 grams.

    THE COST OF GOLD (80gm * ~983.40 = ~2500) IS FAR LESS THAN THE SELLING PRICE. MASSIVE MARKUP. IF THE THOUGHT OF ACQUIRING AS AN INVESTMENT CROSSED YOUR MIND, DO THE MATH AGAIN AND RE-EVALUATE.

    IF YOU WANTED ONE OF THESE, IT WOULD BE MUCH CHEAPER TO ACQUIRE 80 GRAMS OF GOLD, A 0.05 CARAT DIAMOND, A BLOWTORCH, SOME PUTTY AND MOLDS, AND FASHION ONE OF THESE YOURSELF.

    OOPS, MY MATH UP THERE WAS ACTUALLY 2.57205 TROY OUNCES TIMES 983.40

    80gm = 2.5ETC T.OZ

  3. Fat Cat Lim Says:

    Investment? Nah. More like for bragging rights, though I admit that the markup is ridiculously high, especially for something so small. Even taking into account the cost of workmanship, it’s still overpriced.

  4. YOUR BUSINESS OF FUCKING NONE Says:

    like i said, you could fashion yourself one for cheaper
