Chinko matsuri 2008
DAI-san Teikoku has a report on the increasingly popular Chinko matsuri aka Penis festival which is held on 15th March every year in Komaki city in the Aichi prefecture. Once a year they bring out the huge penises and swing them around at people without any censorship at all!
Aichi prefecture is a great place as not only do they air Moetan with even less censorship in the transformation sequences than the DVD version, it is also home to the penis shrine, the vagina festival, the breast goddess of mercy, the 1 meter tall parfait, and sweet pasta.
There are other spots in Japan with similar shrines, but Aichi’s has been the most famous.

I can imagine the thousands of Christian conservatives who’d hurl condeming insults at them for the festival.
That being said, it really proves that the world of Japan is very different from the respective world of the countries that relate to it, observe it, and are generally outside of it.

reminds me of that episode with wong burger. all the little pricked asians build like a huge dick to worship and blast of into space, this is kinda similar I guess, except it’s not a cartoon making fun of asians.

well, it is weird but it also sounds like a light-hearted festival.
and… i can sort of understand how they came up with a phallic themed festival to celebrate the conceiving and birth.

Mr. Zepy, I was there, and it was everything I imagined it would be.
I was hoping that the mere fact that I attended this festival had blessed my dong in some way.
