Eroge: Akatsuki no goei

Finished going through Akatsuki no goei by Akabeesoft2’s sister brand Syangrila which was creating a bit of a buzz lately so I thought I’d just give a few comments on the game.
The game is about Japan in the future where the crime rate is incredibly high and all the rich and affluent need personal bodyguards at all times. The male protagonist Asagiri Kaito has just finished the first year of training in a school that is only for daughters from extremely rich families and at the same time also trains up bodyguards to be assigned to these people.

The game is short. It only takes about 2 hours to get through the common route and 2-3 hours on average for each character’s route. The entire game shouldn’t take more than 15 hours to finish even if you listen to all the voices.
So… what I really want to say is that, every character route feels as if it was abruptly cut off at the end because they ran out of time and the writer couldn’t finish writing the story.

The settings and characters were wonderful though (including the male characters), and the dialogue is full of great gags, but it’s a shame that they’d put out so many interesting plot points that end up being unresolved.
If the game was 3 times longer, it could have been one of the best eroge I’ve played in the past 2 years. Otherwise it’s just… average. But I definitely will be buying the fandisk when they release one.

Don’t know why people insist on long boring visual novels. This is the only game that I finish without skipping anything and every single bits are great. Although many of the parts can be expanded.

I enjoy both short games like Saya no uta and long games alike actually, I mentioned about the length because too many of the character routes in Akatsuki felt like it was cut off at the end due to time constraints, especially Reika and Tsuki’s routes which ended very abruptly. Tae’s doraemon story was the only one that actually felt it was completed.
