Yamakan’s Kannagi and Kyoto animation
The official site for the upcoming Kannagi anime was updated two days ago with additional info on the anime staff working on the anime, and it revealed a few interesting people that are working with ex-Kyoani director Yamamoto Yutaka.
The most obvious being Kousaki Satoru, who was the Kyoani composer that created most of the songs and BGM in Lucky Star and Haruhi, including stuff like God knows, Lost my music, and motteke sailor fuku.
Then there’s the chief animation director Kadowaki Satoshi who was also from Kyoto Animation but apparently left after Lucky Star ended, and art designer Kesamaru Emi who left slightly after Clannad started.
Director Yamamoto Yutaka really brought a bunch of people with him from Kyoto animation when he started Ordet… I wonder how the anime will turn out.

Woah. Must look out for this one once it’s out.

I’ll be watching it anyways, regardless of who’s animating it. The manga makes me gleeful with joy.
I think the anime will turn out fine. They have some good people on board, now they need to make things work. And considering Kannagi’s mood and pace, I think it will work out.

i dont like zange. i hate that fucking hoebag.
heres how i came across kannagi:
i was at teh bookstore. i normally shop by just scanning the shelves for shit i am currently into, and basically filter out everything else. but i saw the word KANNAGI and it was in like bold highlighted text for me. so i pulled it out to check it out. teh cover (#1) instantly owned me and i had to buy it. this happens very rarely but i actually bought something i didnt come for. it apparently had just come out too, at the time.
so uh, it was cool until zange suddenly arrived and fucked up my whole day.
FIN.

Seconding Tyrenol.
And besides, KyoAni…. WHERE IN THE WORLD IS HARUHI SUZUMIYA ?
*hit it rockapella*
O tell me, where in the world is, Haruhi Suzumiya !
~
Oh wait, the article is about people who LEFT KyoANi, not KyoAni themselves.
*waits eagerly for news*

So it was KyoAni’s bad decision to fire Yamakan? Now they’ve lost a number of employees. Ones who have done good work at that.

Blue Mary>
Oh, people who LEFT KyotoAnimu.
Well, I can tell right now that it’s going to FAIL. Just by looking at the image of the poor guy being shoved WAY to the back while the three ladies mug the camera.
And Haruhi… I’d pay good money to see her NOT come back.
April 13th, 2008 at 7:17 pm
Well, unlike you, I’d pay very, VERY good to see her come back.
Seriously. Though I’d pay even more to have her drawn by aBe Yoshito or something.
Oh yeah, and I’d agree on that wager that this anime will be fail. Somehow.
April 13th, 2008 at 11:30 pm
anime been fail since 2000
April 20th, 2008 at 10:10 am
Oh lawd, are they gonna spend the next 25+ minutes talking about food and trying to sell us animu DVD?
