Mx0 to end in Shounen Jump
The usual Jump insider on 2ch has revealed that Mx0 will end soon in the coming issues. I don’t post about comics getting cut from Jump, but I liked Mx0 so I’m posting about it! Man I thought it would survive a little longer. Also getting cut from Jump are Poseidon and Hatsukoi gentei.

Additional note: Just in case anybody misreads, Mx0 is going to end in the next 3-4 chapters or so, it’s not going to end immediately in the next issue of Jump.

I only really started reading Mx0 a few weeks ago, and I felt it was going to end up becoming one of those series which go on forever. I also quite liked it, which was a surprise considering my earlier feelings.

this is one of the better mangas out there. while naruto has more wide appeal, the current arcs would be a joke if it weren’t for the amazing foundation lain by the beginning chapters. Bleach is a roller coaster, but never has consistency about whether it’s good or not (Huenco whatever arc sucks while this pendulum one was ok).
It’s really a shame if the source is japanese sales. And since when was Mx0 a show? o.O Thought it was a series.
Hatsukoi is kind of understandable even though I found it semi-entertaining, but Mx0 was done really well. The game-system level (how a story incorporates rules without contradiction to explain future events such as fights/battles between two characters) while not amazing, is still far above average and at least higher than the current Naruto arcs. It’s an embarassment that Japan would acknowledge a trademark manga/series only because of it’s earlier establishments.
Or is it because, people are dumber than I thought and are really obsessed with ninjas and crap that wear orange jump suits that appeared in the 60s?
Then again, Mx0 definitely doesn’t have the aggressiveness to attract new readers. It’s only one of my recent findings for manga, and I’m a very objective picky person, so yes I do judge by cover to decide what to read first. Not saying it determines my final judgement, but as for the order of initial appeal. Mx0 is definitely lacking. Yet you’d expect the country of manga to at least be a bit less pathetic than oversea elitists.
^_^ Have to say, the class matches were by far the best in terms of battle. It’s light, yet it allowed the mangaka to show his depth and perspective for such things even if it is on a very childish level (Don’t complain, Naruto/bleach were even worse and only had the atmosphere of death to make up for it) which was, very satisfactory.
The only reason I can see these kind of series being shunned is something against ecchi =P cause by all means, this manga is hell lot better drawn than bleach and naruto. The only japanese series I could possibly understand to be super godly to a wide audience was Gundam Seed, since it included nerds/otakus AND fangirls.

Wait, this happened to PF too? Now that’s a damned shame, but I do think that PF ended on a good note. Sure, I wanted more, but it stopped at a good point. I hate to see MxO go, but I hope he can end it on a good note.

I find it hilarious how all these illiterate children are whining about MxO dying. You all read free scanslations online, and have never spent a single penny to support the manga or the artist. No matter how “popular” the manga may have been in your little piracy circles, they weren’t making any profits off of you, and Shueisha doesn’t give a shit how much you enjoy a manga if they’re not making any profits from it.

I wouldn’t mind seeing a Mx0^2 myself. I wonder if it is ending because they plan to make an anime out of it like Azumanga Daioh. It’s probably just wishful thinking but some authors don’t want their stuff animated until the series is done after all.

I realize that as an American reading scanlations, my opinion does not (and probably should not) matter to the mangaka. I really just protest the fact that this is a good manga, with a decent overarching plot that was not in position to end this suddenly. Taiga had the other nine tasks to fully complete his black plate, there was the matter of somehow fulfilling the wish, the mystery of the true purpose of the Mx0…. the list of unresolved plot lines can go on and on. I really do not believe there is a way to satisfactorily resolve this in just 3-4 chapters. (Then again, I believe we’ve already ascertained my opinion counts for diddly-squat).

Honestly I don’t find this too surprising. The last few chapters have seemed really sped up, not as many fillers, and him getting new magic abilities rather quickly. I mean, he just got the black plate, and now has the chance to get a real plate so soon afterwards.
That being said, Mx0 was one of my most looked forward to manga every week, and will be greatly missed. I just wish it could have a little longer to have a decent ending instead of a rushed one.

Insert, the manga is getting canceled because of it’s lack of popularity in Japan, which means that even if all these “illiterate children” complaining here were to buy the manga, it would still be screwed. These guys are just voicing their frustration, and you don’t even know how many of them actually buy their manga, you just assume they pirate it. Not to mention that mx0 isn’t even licensed in English.

I dont really think a petition will solve anything. I heard Kano is stressed becouse of the pressure on him, and as mane have said, the series doesnt seem very popular in JP. We just can hope that he goes on a good holiday, and come back in shape to take the project again, maybe with another publisher.

Gundam Seed? there are some people that like Gundam Seed but i don’t like it. i dont see the fun but Mx0 is really good and its a pity that is going to end it could last pretty long with a good story. “with a bit of a mix of naruto, bleach, dragon ball it would be fantastic”

A manga as well written and well executed as Mx0 can go on for 400 chapters easy without becoming stale. I hope that Yasuhiro Kano revisits the series eventually…

This doesn’t make any sense… Hatsukoi Limited makes sense since it seemed since the beginning to be a temporary test series, but Mx0 actually has been doing well in Japan. The volume sales have always made the top 10 list since volume 1 for the week released, which is the same for toLOVEru, which got an anime…

Oh, now that I’m done spaming, I’ve checked mangas that get kicked out of a weekly manga dstibutor, and it takes about 1year for the mangakas to find new distributors, so we’ll have to wait and see, so, as long as its not a personal reason, we might see this series again. We might even be lucky enough for this series to start selling its own volumes, like they do in America, but I wouldn’t bet on it. Here’s hopin though!

The Shounen Jump Audience revolves obviously around your cliched Shounen Manga’s. One Piece, Naruto, Bleach, Eyeshield, Fairy Tail etc.
Its getting cut because it doesnt match the audience’s “preferences”. Doesnt mean Mx0 is bad or anything.
I doubt he is going to make his series come to a close just because its getting cut off from jump. Hopefully this event will not affect the plot in anyway and he should just wait until another magazine or publisher picks him up. Im sure someone will.
Think about it this way? When Manga from Jump got cut in the past… did they force close the manga? no it was just stopped publishing in the magazine.

damnit this makes no sense, ch96 at the end it says ch97 title is “the strongest magician appears before Kuzumi”
but the ch97 that was released was “what has happened to to go-getter kuzumi since getting his black plate”
GRRRRR why must mangaka authors be dictated and at live at the beck and call of the publishers. its because of them bleach and naruto fell from grace.

Hate to break it to all you people wanting him to switch to another magazine, but it’s not going to happen. Jump holds the rights to series even after they’ve been canceled, and they’re definately going to hold onto Mx0 (since it ran for a decent length) for overseas licensing/merchandise/maybe-eventually-anime profits.

What the hell. I read this series in one day, and became extremely attracted to it, then I learn that it will be canceled the day I read it. In my opinion, Mx0’s storyline possessed more depth than Naruto, Bleach, and Sket Dance combined. First of all, I don’t see what the author of Naruto is doing anymore. He is way to loving of the damned “uchiha” clan, and keeps making more “special moves” for his character, like Itachi’s “real” ultimate attack. Bleach is becoming more and more generic as Rukia was taken, even the Bleach movie that one chick was taken, then Orihime gets taken. What the hell’s next? CHAD? Also, I really see nothing in Sket Dance that Mx0 cannot offer. Of course, Mx0 probably appeals to my eyes and many of you others’ eyes due to the fact that it actually takes some thought to keep the storyline(for example, in Bleach, when Ichigo comes to fight Grimmjow, he gets this fucking MASSIVE powerup for no reason, thus allowing him to defeat Grimmjow. But even if Hueco Mundo powers up Hollow powers, his 11 seconds gets extended to like, 5 hours, and he gains this massive power boost later in the fight after he gets the shit beaten out of him.) I really preferred this story over much of Jump’s other crap, but I guess no can do. FUCK YOU JUMP, AND THE SHITTY LITTLE IDIOTS THAT READ BLEACH AND NARUTO THAT THINK ITS CLICHES RANK THE TOP OF ALL MANGA. I read the whole MxO series in one day, and I enjoyed it so much, I went online to read more about it. But when I started reading up on it, I found out that it would be ending its serialization this month. How depressing.
The story really feels like it is only the beginning…

Yup its very original with the class matches unlike many manga series about mostly touraments or fight one enermy per turn to advance on this is different the fighting is awesome

I just got hooked to Mx0 one week ago when i started reading it. It is so good that brought me to go on and read Pretty Face since knowing it’s from the same author. Really shocked at how PF had ended so rushly and now Mx0 faces the same fate too………

Mx0 was one of the better shônen series out there.
I can’t believe it got cancelled while some stupid other manga seem to run forever.
Mx0 had a really great potential and I enjoyed it a lot. It would be best if the series could transfer to another magazine.
