Why are the staff credits gone from Wii Okami
That’s what Okami director Kamiya Hideki is wondering about when he found out about it from English forums. And after confirming that it is true with the localization staff, he is feeling really downcast that Capcom would cut out the credits for everybody that worked on the game.
He also goes on to say how the staff had put in a lot of feelings into the staff credits for Okami to make it something that would suit the end of a long journey as it was also their first game with a long story and that there is nothing that saddens him more to know that everything got cut away.
Update: The official translation of the post in English and Capcom’s official reason as to why they removed the credits

This is just too much for me. I’ve always had a problem with American companies licensing something and then ripping the soul right out of it, but this is a new low.
Since Okami’s so huge, maybe people will finally start complaining about the lazy, tasteless design decisions companies make when localizing things.
I hope Kotaku or something picks this up, personally.

This right here makes my blood boil, I remember really enjoying the end credits of Okami, it was rather fulfilling in a way. The fact they took that, along side not at least putting the staff’s names back in, is just wrong and feels like a slap to the face.

Somehow, it feels like the americans are stealing the hard work of the people who really worked on the game, curse yo PIGS AMERIKKKANS!

I have a feeling I should have typed some background info in the post!
Anyway, it’s not just about American companies and stuff. Clover studios under Capcom made the game a while back, but Kamiya Hideki along with the staff that were in Clover studios have since left Capcom to form their own company. So basically Capcom is removing their credits because they aren’t working with Capcom anymore.

And people wonder why there’s so many “game haters” and so much “game hatred.” That’s one of the reasons.
