Both the 2nd season still isn't out and the 10th book sort of "disappeared" are the two things that concerns the whole fan base.

There are two more pages after the scans above. It has a very small article with pictures talking about the upcoming Haruhi game for Wii. The other 1.75 pages covers a Kadokawa promotion of figures. The Haruhi game for Wii, known as "Suzumiya Haruhi no Gekidou", will release in November 27th. The Limited Edition "DX pack" will include a Haruhi figure made by Kaiyodo (Fraulein Revoltech). The following 4 magazines will include 1 figure (only goes up to the waist, parts are interchangeable with the one from the DX pack):
-The Sneaker December issue (Oct. 30): Ultra Director Ver.
-Conputiku December issue (Nov. 10): Pony Tail Ver.
-Shonen S January 2009 issue (Nov. 26): Akanbe Ver. (not sure what's the translation for this one)
-New Type January 2009 issue (Dec. 10): Ultra Order Ver. (translated word by word for this one.

My guess is the games are on a higher priority at the moment and the figures are going to be used to get the fan base hyped up while KyoAni is working on the anime at the moment. I hope both the anime and the 10th book won't get pushed back for too long as it already delayed to a point that people start wondering when they're coming.

Oh good.

I just hope they don't pull the episode shuffling again... that was my main problem with the first season... it's the sort of gimmick that only works once.

I think what they mean is something along the lines of how the first Haruhi series episode timeline had created a large impact to the viewers and they decided that they have to make the 2nd season have something that will give the viewers the same amount of impact.

I doubt they'll try to change the story... I think. They sure didn't sound anything like they'll try something like that.

@Zepy:

How the hell is it difficult to adapt Haruhi? It's practically written for television already.

All they have to do is take the plot of the novels and make them into a show. There's barely any thought involved whatsoever.

Gaaagh... this is making me think they're going to betray the novels for the sake of money again...

The article at the top of the page is basically to tell the readers about how the anime was originally announced as "2nd season", and then cancelled and renamed as "new animation", the interview below on the same page shows that they're serious about the change in project.

Basically they decided to start anew again after deciding that a mere continuation was not sufficient, hence the change in name. They're probably aiming to have the new season to have the same amount of impact as the original Haruhi series, though they don't actually say it explicitly.

But in the end... "new animation" is still the 2nd season, the change in name in december was basically Kyoani trying to rethink the project from scratch again.

Also the reason why I didn't think the new season would start in 2008 was not only because the directors seemed to imply the project was still in the early stages of planning, but also that one of the directors, Ishihara, is also the director for Clannad After Story.

Very nice, but I'm still confused with the speculations going on over at AnimeSuki Forums... It's a shame I can't read Japanese, as I have no bloody idea if I should rejoice or be frustrated with KyoAni.

http://forums.animesuki.com/showpost.php?p=1643890&postcount=1188
^ Is this true? So is it a marketing ploy to prank us, or is really a new take on the season as previously posted?

Sorry if this question has already been answered, but with all the comments in the previous article and posts in the forums, it's hard to focus on what's actual and what's just theory. Thanks!
