Goodbye Rune

youjo.jpgI’m not sure how many people reading this have actually heard of Rune, but they were a middle sized eroge maker which has been around since 1999 when they released Fifth and has been semi-popular among certain groups of people.

A large number of their staff including their CG editors and their scenario writers have been quitting since early May. And most recently the two artists that Rune has always been known for, Nonohara Miki and Akamaru, who have been in the company since the beginning, have revealed on their blogs that they too, have quit.

An ex-staff(?) from Rune had appeared on 2ch last night saying that they had quit because they weren’t receiving their pay, and that most of the staff had gone their separate ways instead going as a team and forming a new brand under a different company. However, their upcoming game 8665^3 was already mostly completed when the staff left the company, so chances are that it’ll somehow still get released.

Nonohara and Akamaru are apparently still working together in their new job, though it’s unknown where they’ve moved to yet.
