I bought two copies because Tora and Melon (in Kobe) had different extras (tokuten). I got the rough sketch book and a A4 plastic paper holder, respectively. The former is interesting because it explains that to make that cover illustration, Naruko sketched, digitized then printed, then he resketched and re-digitized. (The illustration is in autographed framed (?) form also available for 9000 yen, mail-order). Also, Tora said they had 4 different kinds of postcards, but I only saw 1 kind. I’ve probably seen them all in one form or another, though.

WTF do I do with my second copy? Maybe I can sell it later. BTW, I remember one of Hanaharu Naruko-themed magazines (released last year?) going for 4200 yen unopened at K-Books Nipponbashi. Pricey.

Hanaharu Naruko’s illustrations are pretty hawt, because it also “has been popular among certain groups of people” in that certain way. (http://zepy.momotato.com/2008/06/23/goodbye-rune/). I totally expected Zepy to cover this (again). Hahaha. No wait, usually the d00ds are the same age or younger. Carry on. ;-)

As for the book itself, you get a lot for the 1300 yen (don’t eromangas average 900 yen or so?). Not including the store-only extras, you get a reversible cover, a postcard insert, two color sections of 8 pages which includes two fold out posters. Plus the main part is his early (?) works mostly from 2003. I think they pulled out all the stops on this release, maybe. I think he has material for another three books or so, though.

I don’t know what makes this particular eromanga so much better than the infinite number of others, but that is definately some crazy demand. Might be worth seeing what all the commotion is about later.
