10 injured as escalator fails in Wonderfest
47news is reporting that 50 people tumbled when an upward moving escalator broke down at Tokyo Big Sight during Wonderfest at approximately 10am today. 10 people were injured and amongst them one was seriously injured with a fracture.
Giganews has a more detailed first hand report of the scene with photos and videos, including one which shows the upward moving escalator moving in the opposite direction for an instant as it breaks before it actually stops.
Comiket is only two weeks away now, I hope it’s not going to be affected by this incident…
