Oshii’s Sky Crawlers was screened at the 65th Venice International Film Festival and he received a warm applause from the audience. He apparently also commented that Miyazaki’s Gake no ue no Ponyo was just some old man’s fantasy. Reaction to Ponyo at Venice Film Festival.
Code Geass R2’s online streaming was a big success
Approximately 420,000 views for the first episode on biglobe and subsequent episodes maintained 230,000 to 250,000 views each. Bandai visual says it’s amazing because prior to this, their popular anime only got between 40,000 to 50,000 views per episode.

I do wish that Bandai Visual would just shut the hell up.

My hope is that FUNimation or Media Blasters will pimp it out with an English dub. And I don’t mind people ripping off GONZO. Just as long as they’re ripping GONZO’s good parts off. And atleast they’re not ripping off $unrise.
The Miyazaki-tachi? Hayao being against lolicon? And his son still being an amateur? Last I checked, Hayao handed these people the spotlight and they’ve been acting like insta-fame rap artists; lack of talent ad nauseum.
Give me the RPG so I can sink this failboat. I’ll support the industry when I think your show kicks arse and it speaks in English. And not “before.” :)

Ametalk is a variety show hosted by Ameagarikesshitai, during the special they invite entertainers that are fans of Slam Dunk to talk about the subject. It’s not an anime related variety show, but they sometimes feature popular anime. They’ve previously already featured stuff like Jojo, Evangelion, and Dragonball.

Naw, Ametalk is a mainstream TV show with high TV viewership, when they featured anime subjects on the show they’ve only picked the popular mainstream stuff.

The reason why Haruhi hasn’t been up on Ametalk yet is probably because the Haruhi fandom is still rather ‘infant’ (probably a bad word choice, but i couldn’t think of anything else lol =P). Haruhi’s only been around for approx. 2 years whereas the other shows mentioned (DB, SD, Jojo and NGE) have all got decades over Haruhi.

I knew you were going to say something like that…. but meh, Anon’s right > Haruhis is still relatively young. Runaway success as it is, it will need to stand the test of time. Eva (as much as I dislike it), lasted for ten years, and Slam Dunk and DBZ… you get the picture.
So we’llw ait for ten years. Hopefully, Haruhi will get a spot on Ametalk by then.
