To say CANNEDDOGS is fail would be disrespectful to Zepy, this channel and the readers on it.

NOYFB, your channel would be more for you and less for people who are interested in this channel. But that's how I see it.

Comet: I don't play eroge, i play RTS, i don't care.

DMC: Didn't interest me as an anime, I just know that Hollywood will fuck it up and it'll be a big flop.

Ore no imouto ga konna ni kawaii wake ga nai: Why?
Because many japanese manga and anime otaku are retarded enough to buy into fetish pandering light novels. Just like Lucky Star [which i liked, but found to be inferior to Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann] and Strike Witches [Newver watched it and do not plan to, even if Perrine Clostermann is a meganekko. Fanservice ridden moe trash is trash!] and many more series.
Secret desires is desires.

Evangelion USB flash drive: Why an overprized USB drive instead of cards, figurines or something else worthwhile?
Shit sucks!

Toradora: Generic design puts me off.
Plot and story seem interesting, but my hatred and expectations of high-school anime put this title quite off for me.

They did seem to have mess up on how Taiga should look or feel. Though thx god they don't look as awful as the art from the earlier post. Still looking forward to it though.

All Obata gotta do is suddenly give the kid comic artist the power to make the characters that he draw explode to gory bits in real life and Voila! You get Death Draw, the next bestseller.

For some reason, those character designs for Toradora reminds me of Higurashi's character design: humongous heads and fluffy hair with skinny bodies.

Just slap an "USO DA!" and a machete to the lower left image of her face screaming, and Taiga can be the next Rena easy.

>Sqrfrk
Basically Obata just kept doing manga on Shounen Jump but never got a big hit and even his assistant made a manga debut and became one of the bigger Shounen Jump titles during its time while Obata still hadn't gotten a big hit yet till years later when he got Hikaru no go.

Togashi on the other hand does sketches and wins. The sales for each new Hunter X Hunter tankoubon apparently never fell even after the long periods of absence and the tankoubon still gets a larger print run than Naruto or Bleach. (One Piece is on a completely different level)

It's not really known on all the factors that go into getting another serialization, but authors seemed to get the next serialization faster if there were fairly good results from reader surveys before the manga ended. Also when there's a one-shot manga and the response is good, Jump tends to give the serialization fairly quickly as compared to magazines like Shounen Sunday.

@Zepy
Wow, your last bit sounded like a plot cliche. I'm assuming the hard work part goes to Togashi while the talent part goes to Obata? Or was it vice versa in regards to anything else in their projects? Though I'm curious if Hunter X Hunter ever suffered a lapse in popularity during those long sick leaves that Togashi was taking.

And what are the chances that authors of cut manga have another shot in Jump? Would there be any bias toward or against the author for any future reviews on works submitted?

The Shounen Jump system is that any manga can get cut if it's unpopular in the reader surveys regardless of how famous the authors are though (survey popularity takes precedence over sales). But Bakuman probably still has a good chance of surviving because there are a few others that are more likely to get cut first in the next wave of cuts.

Obata has actually been with Shounen Jump for just as long as Togashi, but... one person was surviving with hard work and the other guy surviving on talent.
