Aslead to do Minamike season 3
One of the animators working on Minamike season 3 apparently leaked the info on his blog that the anime will be done by Aslead, the guys who did everybody’s favorite Minamike okawari! The character designer is still the same guy that did okawari as well. I bet everybody’s really excited over this now!

Actually, I’d rather have Minami-ke 1st Season’s animator, but I don’t mind.
I AM BOSS.

Well, sometimes I really don’t know if you’re being sarcastic or not. This is one of those times.
IMHO season 1’s animation looked better, but oh well.

Hahaha I didn’t think it would have been hard to to tell that I was sarcastic!
DVD sales for okawari was only half of what season 1 did, there sure isn’t a lot of everybody who likes okawari.

I wish to purchase a cabbage. A cabbage of not so fun Minami-ke season two animation. Oh it’s free you say? How so… OHHH season three? Fantastic. I shall boil it in the rest of my average anime soup.

Okawari actually has more fluid animation, whereas the first season is easier on the eye because it didn’t tried too hard with mimicing the manga drawing style and when with a very simple and generic cute style.
The problem with Okawari is just the script and direction, the animation itself is fine, if not technically better than season 1, so the fact that the Aslead is doing the animation part is really not a deal breaker, yet. If say they get the director from the first season combined with the animation in the second it might actually be a very good series. But if they get the same Okawari direction team then it will be a giant flop.
Also before the 1st season went on air everyone was scared shitless because Doumu just did Yoyakemae (the infamous QUALITY cabbage incident), so don’t be so sure about things yet.

First Kyou no Go no Ni TV gets the worst animation ever, now this…
Will bad news never end?

Please! Erase Fuyuki off the director’s mind!

I’m surprised nobody has commented on the image that Zepy chose for this entry. It pretty much says everything that needs to be said.

Hey! Maybe it’ll be better!
Okawari was alright but suffered because Asread was kind of inexperienced in the field of slice of life. Maybe they learned something! I mean they did make Shuffle! so they’re not really all that bad.

Maybe they’ll try to make it a comedy this time.

You know…
It’s tiring for me to repeat myself for too long. “90% of anime created is pure garbage; in terms of animation, plot, and character interaction.”
Even said creators are admitting to the numbers: The viewing populace for (late night) animu is under 5%. And not everybody can get pass the 10,000-unit DVD sales mark.
For them to go on like this and still make around 50 titles per season; Drmchsr0 and some other guy might be right. The anime industry NEEDS a major overhaul. But hey can’t do it because it would mean a frighteningly large spike in the suicide rate from all the unemployment caused. The companies are thinking about their employees who are already dirt-poor.

That’s how I feel. I’m still eagerly anticipating this. Though most of it is probably because of the hope of more Mako-chan. :V

I do want to see the Minami Bros. This is something that Okawari was lacking. I mean all this timeslot wasted on Fuyuki could have been used for NAtsuki, Akira and the Brother Who Remains Nameless.

Asread had to work with less than one volume of the manga (Doumu used the bulk of the chapters), so people might find this season more enjoyable since they’ll have more stuff to work with.

Okawari got better, to the point of actually being funny, the further along it got. Maybe they’ll start out being funny this time.
It still wasn’t nearly as good as the first season though :(
