Korea’s online mmo eroge D.A.T.E online

erogejyanGPM studio is starting their alpha test for D.A.T.E online which is an adult online love simulation game. The game appears to play as an ADV game and largely focuses on the online dating aspects, with women playing female characters and guys playing male characters and having 1:1 chats.

The game apparently has a scenario with events that the players will follow which may lead to H scenes and finally an ending.

Korean online gaming news site thisisgame had a feature on the game with screenshots from the game and an interview with the developers.

I’m not sure if I can see any chance of success in this game.

It’s SO going to fail. Unless it’s primarily gay-oriented, perhaps.

  2. JockeII Says:

And you don’t think guys will be playing girls? Not unusual on the Internet, just look at all the MMO’s.

  3. kioku from negotiations Says:

females are more aesthetically pleasing..i’d be one regardless.

  4. Blitzwing Says:

Well, being Korean, it’ll probably be KSSN authenticated, meaning guys should be guys, and girls should be girls? If it allows for that level of fact verification…

    this

  6. Sqrfrk Says:

Well it looks like they’re trying to cash in on the MMO craze over there. The culture over there has no visible (or mainstream) market for games of this type, typically going to the (very) underground niche.

Which is actually a bit ironic, considering the touch-and-go encounters you see in Seoul’s nightlife.

can’t we simply ban gays from this game if we find them??? those lozerz can go play neopetz or something

its looks cool like something I would ply for since it is more meaningful then WOW…it looks like something my dad would appreciate too

I’m surprised no one has mentioned the grind…

  9. Blackadder Says:

    I….. kinda like this idea.

Ludicrous in some respects… but intriguing in others.

Though I won’t be surprised if it had a monthly fee. Ah well: if it did, the price of online ‘dating’.

Take a look at the screenshots - don’t the school uniforms look like they were taken straight from the game Happiness?

  11. Blackadder Says:

Unless I’m mistaken, customizable uniforms should be a feature.

And not a biggie…. eroge makers have long copied anime designs from time to time.

  12. Narumi Says:

    >uinreli

If you’re talking about that one picture, it *is* Happiness.

Lol NOYFB why did you buy an EEEpc, it is just a laptop wannabe for poor people.

  14. some random guy Says:

while i personally believe this will be a pile of fail,

seeing the screenshots make me interested in how they are actually gonna make this work…

  15. Blackadder Says:

    >JockeII

I’d rather give the OLPC (one laptop per child) that definition.
