I mean, we have to accept that it's written by Toriyama and it's set in the Dragon Ball Universe, two years after Majin Buu. It could completely make sense, seeing as the final episode of DBZ is a timeskip forwarding 10 years after Buu; and the party and baby shower for Bra (Trunks's lil sister as you will all remember) and all that was set six months after Buu was defeated. There's a huge gap of stuff that could've happened then, and since DBGT isn't canonical, it still leaves open-ended opportunities. And again, this the Dragon Ball Universe. Who knows what could happen. Technically, Toriyama-sensei had decided to retire his work on all anime after Blue Dragon; well, this seems like his comeback bit, so we should be happy that he's given thoughts on us. If you look on Fanfiction.net, somebody has probably thought of a similar idea; Toriyama probably had his thoughts on this from somewhere. It's the same thing with Stephanie Meyer's book saga of Twilight; after her first two books, Breaking Dawn was somewhat panned immediately by fans and some compared it to a "fanfiction" ending...I haven't read it and I disagree with that. the point of this rant is...After all, it HIS work and he's allowed to do what he wants with it. I mean, it's not like he had planned Goku and Piccolo being aliens when he created them and in the end it still worked out somehow. I don't remember the details from the Bardock and Broly specials/movies, but probably Goku was sent to earth because Bardock was just a regular warrior and his son appeared so weak and wimpy (he pissed Baby Broly off with his crybaby attitude) that they concluded Earth was the only place where he would even stand a chance.
