Ahh, the Sapporo Tokeidai, I seen it twice when I was in Hokkaido. The building is a lot smaller than I thought, I didn’t notice it until the locals said it is there -.-;;

Do make sure bring some warm clothings, because even in summer, Hokkaido is quiet cold. Sapporo has Odori Park and it gets very lively at night, I saw group of people in circle singing, dancing playing the drums all night long.

If you packed a sleeping bag, you can even sleep at the park too (only in summer).

In winter time, you can see a lot of snow sculptures, maybe even some miniture version of certain building or locations.

I must admit that Washinomiya Shrine is quite a lovely place. It emits a very peaceful, serene aura, even with its board filled with Lucky Star wishes. Maybe it’s because it isn’t constantly populated with tourists, unlike the ones in Kyoto.

For me it is actually very cool and fun visiting all those places shown in anime.

Being able to personally visited those places gives me the feeling that I can see the world through the character’s eye.

The other great thing about visiting those places is actually go out and see all kinds of great things that is out there in the world.

The process of getting there is also part of the experience.
Pick up similarity and difference between real life and anime, riding the train, getting lost, eating local food, see local attractions, discover places you never realize existed, get random surprises and discovery and maybe also see other fans also doing the “pilgrimage walk”.

Onegai Teacher/Twins’s Kizaki lake is one of the place I can never forget. The town is quiet but the view is really beautiful. Makes me understand why the producers pick such location to do the show.

Lucky Star’s Washinomiya Shrine.

Noein’s Hakodate city has many old Russian buildings.

I recommend everyone who has a chance to go to Japan at least see one real life location of your favorite anime. You will enjoy every bit of it.

I’m sortta torn about this.
It used to be cool, the whole “Hinamizawa is a real town!” deal.
Now it feels sort of lazy, going to somewhere, taking a bunch of photographs, then drawing from them or worse photoshopping over them.

They even found Kannagi’s house? Wow…I wonder if some anime fans will start making a pilgrimage there and freak out the house residents.

Any indication of when the Ah Megami-sama series will ever end? I can’t imagine the series continue for another 20 more years. ORZ
