Dennou Figure ARis
Dennou Figure ARis was released by Geisha Tokyo Entertainment on the 19th and it is an augmented reality figure which allows you to interact with a virtual figure by using a webcam. A video of the figure in action is available here (youtube)
However many users that bought the package now complain about how it can take 100% CPU even on high end PCs, freezes or bluescreens on some others, or just wouldn’t run at all.
But that did not hurt them much because all 3000 copies from the first shipment sold out in two days despite costing 9,800 yen.

I saw plenty of cool nico nico douga with ARToolKit stuff, but this is the first time I see AR being commercialized. I am excited and can not wait for another hit product.
Hatsune Miku is big, maybe something equally big might happen in AR.

I like manga however this is really beyond perverted. This is basically something only a pedophile would get off on. If you really need this, you need to be locked up, castrated then lit on fire.
I’ve known too many women who were molested when pre-teen or younger and a product like this adds to the sick minds who are gratified by this. I am not a prude or against pornography in any manner nor think it needs to be controlled. I’ve even known people who do porn and been friends with them. This thing is not a toy, not porn, it’s demented and sick.
Really though, it’s not the product that turns my gut, it’s the people who are drooling over this. If you honestly think this is something “fun” to have, please to the world a favor. Spend your money on a gun instead, get a hollow-point round, load the gun with the round, put the barrel of gun in your mouth and pull the trigger. Can’t get a gun, get some rope. You can actually hang yourself on a doorknob if you can’t find anything high to hang from. If you really need this level of control remember the song from M*A*S*H. Suicide is painless, and I can end up leaving if I please.
And to those who will probably go postal over what I am saying, you are just proving my point. This is sick and if you get off on it, you are sick. Individuals who justify this are devolutionists to humanity.

Normalicy : Calm down, man. Just becasue they are tiny in stature doesn’t mean they are children real or digital. They are obviously “of age” a least visually. et over your paranoia and preconceptions and look on he more positive side of manga and anime..some things are made just for the shits and giggles of it all.
The only “creey” factor is the obvious hands trying to molset her, adult or not, still wonr IN REAL LIFE …digital, eh I say enslave all digital people mwahahahah! (if you prudes couldnt tell, that was a joke, also not something to be taken too seriously:P )
