English speaking maid cafe Cafe Rokumeikan
Gpara reports that a new maid cafe called Cafe Rokumeikan has opened in Akihabara on the 11th of November. What makes it different from other maid cafes is that the menu is in English, and the maids will serve you in English.
Aside from drinks and bread, they also have a variety of different services on the menu, such as writing your English name in kanji, giving you a wonderfully DQN kanji name to laugh at.
They also plan to turn the place into a standing bar after 7pm in the future, with an expanded list of alcoholic drinks.
English speaking cafes aren’t new in Japan, but I guess an English speaking maid cafe is new. Maybe.
The official site is here, and some English info together with a map is available here. And a weird story here.

English and kanji? I wonder what their reactions would be when a customer could use either better than those maids… ^^;;;

Would be even cooler if they employ “gaijin” maid. Say French, German, Swedish, etc. Just to make people hell confused and scared, its an entirely new experience.

A funny thing, though…
I went to a Mexican restaurant where people spoke Mexican.
I went to a Chinese restaurant where people spoke Chinese…
Startin’ to sound a bit like FAILURAID, Fuk-Biz. We might have to change your name to “Mervyns.”

Cafe Mai:Lish has always had an English menu, though they don’t offer the same ’services.’
