428 gets perfect score on Famitsu
Sega / Chunsoft’s new visual novel 428 has gotten a perfect score on Famitsu, showing just how much mone— I mean, shows just how good and awesome the game is! 428 is a spiritual sequel to the legendary Chunsoft sound novel “machi” but getting a perfect score on Famitsu is insane.
Just for comparison, Famitsu scores from famous galge:
PS2 Cross Channel 25/40
PS2 Kazoku Keikaku 23/40
PS2 Fate/Stay Night 29/40
PS2 Higurashi no naku koro ni 31/40
PSX To Heart 30/40
DC Kanon 28/40
DC AIR 30/40
PS2 CLANNAD 26/40
SS Kono yo no hatede koi wo utau shoujo YU-NO 27/40
I’ll be getting the game, so I can either laugh at Famitsu (as always) or realise how totally awesome 428 is.

Please laugh hard if you find it crappy. Famitsu has been one of the heavier promoters for the game, so I wouldn’t be surprised if it turns out to be bias.

Doesn’t Machi (街) have a really high user score in Famitsu? Like it’s been number 1 for years? If readers continually vote for it years after its release, it must be good. I have the PSP version waiting for me if ever I feel in the mood for it.
BTW, I couldn’t really relate to your galge score list (except for ToHeart) so I did the Internet search thing and got this: http://www.accessup.org/pj/6_A5ABA5B8A5DEA4B5A4F3/200605221.html
PS2 (and probably DC) Kimi ga Nozomu Eien Rumbling Hearts 30/40
PS2 Tokimeki Memorial 3 32/40
PS2 Yumeria 30/40
PS2 Kimikiss 31/40 (this is an enterbrain product, must score it high)
Sakura Taisen stuff scores high, huh.

Yeah, but it has nothing to do with 428, especially when it isn’t even the same writer/supervisor anymore.

No. Just no.

Well latly famitsu have given out insane scores, look at Squares latest game it got 38/40…. And the average score outside japan is 6,1 LOL I would love to know if the actually took up the terrible game breaking problems the game had or they maybe where blind enought by the money bag from square.

It’d probably be best to compare it to their last game:
PS3Wii Imabikisou 33/40
But who knows, the game might actually be that good.

Uh, oh.
Comparing a Chunsoft sound novel to those girl games is like asking why American Pie and Citizen Kane didn’t get the same note at Rotten Tomatoes.
Machi truly is an amazing game, which had deep repercussions throughout several layers of the media. Famitsu’s notes don’t mean anything, but if 428 can really call itself the spiritual successor to Machi, then it deserves all the efforts Sega is putting into it.

I’m buying it for the extra scenario by the TYPE-MOON staff.
I never played the original Machi because of the usually embarrassingly cheesy Japanese actors…
Now nobody cares about the scores that Famitsu gives, but perhaps is really a good game.
