Katou Emiri is a hardcore FF11 addict

Wednesday, December 31st, 2008

hayashibaraSeiyuu Katou Emiri, known for her role as Kagami in Lucky Star, was interviewed in Famitsu, and she was asked if she likes video games. She reveals that she loves gaming and especially RPGs, and has been playing Final Fantasy XI since two years ago.

Then she reveals she has five jobs at lvl 75: Red Mage, White Mage, Black Mage, Bard, Summoner, Blue Mage at lvl 70 and Scholar at lvl 65.

People that played the game estimate it would take about 5000 hours to get that far, and she only started playing 2 years ago.

I wonder what is Togashi’s total FF11 play time if Katou Emiri can play the game that much while working still!

Man arrested for carjacking to go to Comiket

Saturday, December 27th, 2008

gtaA 18 year old man has been arrested in Aichi for carjacking a 65 year old lady with a knife in the carpark of a shopping centre. The reason he gives for doing so is that he wanted to go to Tokyo to attend Comic Market. The police activated the helicopter after it was reported and caught him quickly enough.

Insert mandatory comment about Comiket being a gathering of criminals. Insert mandatory comment about GTA.

The game will be based on the NAOMI. Also they have not explicitly mentioned anything about working on the gameplay, but talked about bringing the game to a “arcade fighting game” level.

Umineko no naku koro ni anime staff announced

Wednesday, December 24th, 2008

Ep4!Famitsu has released information about the anime staff that is working on the anime and some character roughs. The main staff appears to be the same as the staff that worked on the Higurashi anime aside from the character designer.

Series composition is by Kawase Toshifumi again, which means I will probably keep watching the anime but not like it anyway.

Also Shanon is played by Kugimiya. She gets too much work.

Mahou Shoujo Ai 3 append disc date

Monday, December 22nd, 2008

yurusanaiThe producer for the game has put up an official apology on the website taking full responsibility for having released an incomplete game and says that a new producer is on the job now and they are aiming to send out an append disc on 28th February 2009.

Sure killed all hopes that they accidently released an old build and would release a gigabyte patch quickly. Mahou Shoujo Ai was kinda cool so it’s sad to see it end this way.

I wonder if Kuroki is still alive.

428 the animation officially titled CANAAN

Friday, December 19th, 2008

nasubi daseThe 428 anime has been officially called CANAAN. This post is an excuse to say again that 428 was great, Type-moon’s bonus scenario in the game felt really out of place however. Also the game only sold 34,000 on the first week, Famitsu’s scores really don’t mean anything to their readers anymore.

Taiwanese online game gets Japanese voices

Wednesday, December 17th, 2008

hipApparently the new cool thing to do recently is to hire voice talent to speak in a completely different language from the game they’re voicing for, because the Taiwanese online SRPG Norn Saber Online has gotten various Japanese voice actresses to provide Japanese voice overs for their Chinese game.

Voice cast:
Suzuki Mariko
Touma Yumi
Kanda Akemi
Kuwashima Houko
Noto Mamiko
Yasui Eri
Hirohashi Ryou

Photos from the voice recording and a video from the game with some of their voices is available here.

Kowarekake no Orgol

Tuesday, December 16th, 2008

professionalsA short trailer for ElectromagneticWave’s doujin anime Kowarekake no Orgol, has been posted on the official website, and the theme song has been posted at Sound Online’s site. From past posts on their blog and from the preview, it does seem like they have a bunch of guys with professional experience afterall.

Also from his site, it appears that POP is releasing a Sunred doujin at comiket, which makes him the coolest guy on the block now.
