Nitro+ fighting game to go to arcades
Nitro+ has announced that a 2D fighting game made based on their characters is now in the works under MileStone. The game will be based on Nitro+ Royale but will also be reworked on with new high res sprites. They hope to be able to release the game in 2009.
The game will be based on the NAOMI. Also they have not explicitly mentioned anything about working on the gameplay, but talked about bringing the game to a “arcade fighting game” level.

Oh snap!! I hope I’m still in Japan when it comes out….

Considering the state that game was in, it’s going to need a LOT of work: might as well just scrap that whole project and start over. But hey, best of luck to the devs.

I love you Nitro+ but this is inexcusable.
Unless you bring in God himself your remake is going to be busted as fuck when it comes out too.

This has crazy garbage potential. I hope they completely rebuild the game.

Wow, I’ve never played the game, but THAT bad? I gotta give it a try now.

It’s not so much THAT bad– I’ve certainly played worse fighting games– as it is extremely rough and completely unready for a pro release. The gap here is much wider than with Melty Blood, which was polished enough to be competitive with its professional contemporaries when it was first released, never mind its ascent to mainstream popularity in the Japanese arcades. Making this game good might be a task akin to raising the dead.

Godspeed, dudes. You’ve got a long. long way to go before they’re playing this at Tougeki.

I’m still holding out for Urobura arcade cabs, personally.

But that game sucked… I did play through it once or twice though.
And worse yet, no Nitro+ Chiral characters.
