CV03 full name and art
Crypton has now revealed the full name for CV03 to be Megurine Luka and the character art has also been revealed on their website now. CV03 will be released on 30th January at an open price, but they expect it will go for approximately 15,750 yen.
Also why couldn’t they just announce everything on the same day! It’s strangely annoying to post twice about this.

She looks weird… like a soprano. : /

Actually, that’s exactly the look of a virtuoso alto.

Haha wow, her synthesizer character design cues looks like she’s based off a Yamaha VL1 / VL7. The woodgrain tells it all.

what a fail name

うほっ!いいchibitech
thanks for the insight. ww
I don’t see any woodgrain on the pics from google though, just silvery looking plastic from the top view?

Whoops, I forgot that the VL7 ditched the wood paneling. I only played around with a VL1 once when my sound synthesis professor brought his over, yet Megurine Luka’s arm looked awfully familiar! (the actual VL1’s texture looks a lot more fake, though)

Ah, I see. I found some photos on flickr with the woodgrain in clear view, it was too hard to see on some of the google results.
Now that I think about it, I read about Miku and the DX100 on your blog some time ago.
So what are the Kagamine twins’ arms based off of?

>Kagamine twins’ arms
Yamaha EOS B200. This one I definitely didn’t find out myself (considering I don’t think the keyboard was ever released overseas — all I know is that it’s the precursor to Yamaha’s Tyros line). Thank 2ch for this one.
Also, Miku’s skirt is made from the multiple panels of a Yamaha TX816 rackmount (I can already imagine hardcore cosplayers trying to raid recording studios of their old FM gear and cannibalizing their faceplates into a metal skirt just from this fact)
At least my dream of seeing a form of シンセたん anthropomorphism become popular idol fodder finally came true! Crypton’s marketing department did their job fantastically. The DX100 is probably feeling vindicated now, thinking to itself “finally people know me a lot more than ‘that one machine that’s only useful for fucking SolidBass & LatelyBass and can fetch a million bucks on eBay if slapped with the words ‘ROGER TROUTMAN TALKBOX SOUND’”.

I definitely see the pitch / modulation knobs on the arms and the speakers on the legs, but the display doesn’t seem to match up:

Anyway thanks…much respect to you and your obscure 変態である knowledge (and 2ch).
By the way, did you know that if you google image search for シンセたん, the only results are a picture of a Japanese girl holding an assault rifle and three pictures of weed?
