Wanimagazine has announced that they will be coming out with a new quarterly magazine called Gelatin on the 4th of February with Naruko Hanaharu drawing the cover and an awesome line-up of artists to do the comics.

Finished Akatsuki no goei FD. I was hoping they would tie up all the loose ends and have a proper ending, but they made more loose ends instead! Now they’ve announced an actual sequel in the staff diary, so I’m putting all hopes there.

Taiwanese-made Norn Saber Online showed that they loved Japanese by hiring Japanese voice actresses to voice all their characters in Japanese, but apparently that was not where their love stopped at.

In an act of such magnitude that would even bowl Ikegami Akane over, almost all the art in the game appears to be traced from Japanese galge and eroge. Some samples are shown above, with art from Norn Saber Online on the left, and the original on the right.

I don’t know why I’ve ended up posting so much about Chinese stuff recently, but this should be the last of it. I hope.

Voting has ended on the eromanga/novel boards on 2ch for the poll to decide the best eromanga of 2008 and the results are in.

I was personally surprised that Tsundero was top, because I was expecting Shoujo Material to be the clear top this year, but Tsundero deserves its ranking for it’s amazing popularity too. Tsundero is currently sold out everywhere according to several reports.

Tonokawa: The chairman said that we might get an interesting chemical reaction if we added some poison to rewrite. Romeo’s scenario is always very logical, and Key’s main strengths are mainly centred around moe. If we put Ryuukishi into the mix we’d definitely get a very deep and interesting result.

Ryuukishi07: I was told that I am allowed put a large portion of my personal style into the story, so I won’t be holding back and go all out with my own personal tastes. Of course, I will still keep it in line with the world view from the other writers and hopefully we can all enjoy this joint collaboration together.

Also in the latest issue of Romeo’s light novel, he said that the scenario that they’re currenting writing for Rewrite is godlike and promises that it’s really good.

And Umineko ep 4 was wonderful. I’m glad I didn’t drop the game when I thought ep 2 was rubbish.

I can’t wait for the Umineko anime so I can see the staff destroy the story again together with Kawase’s great scriptwriting.

17173.com reports that the China-made online game Kou dai xi yuu is apparently going to be animated in China. A trailer has also been put up for the anime.

The game is not some officially licensed Blue Dragon online game, it just looks really similar, and has “blue dragon” in the title.

Also a Chinese princess maker online game, which has nothing to do with the princess maker series in Japan, started beta testing.

In non-rip-off gaming news, the China-made AVG adaptation of the old Chinese classic Dream of the red chamber is being ported to the PSP.

The TV ad for Norn Saber online has been released too, all it shows is a bunch of swimsuit girls running to a happy guy. Doesn’t say anything about the actual game but it sounds like a great game!?

Saya no uta, one of Urobuchi Gen’s most famous works, has been fan translated apparently. I thought I should post about it because I loved the game back when I played it years ago, though it also ranks pretty high as a game that’s famous but should never be recommended to somebody new to eroge.

I get a strange feeling when talking about translated eroge because it feels like I shouldn’t be talking about the English version when I’ve never read the English version myself.

Crypton has now revealed the full name for CV03 to be Megurine Luka and the character art has also been revealed on their website now. CV03 will be released on 30th January at an open price, but they expect it will go for approximately 15,750 yen.

Also why couldn’t they just announce everything on the same day! It’s strangely annoying to post twice about this.

The Crypton blog has revealed that seiyuu Asakawa Yuu is the voice for the CV03, which will support both English and Japanese and will be released later this month. The name for CV03 will have the word “Meguri” (巡), representing how CV03 will hopefully bridge gaps between people and cultures.

Mudazumo naki kaikaku – The Legend of Koizumi is a mahjong manga by Oowada Hideki, also known for his work on gag manga Dai mahou touge. The manga is about how the top heads of each country battle it out with each other in the game of mahjong.
