Studio e.go! died

hankoYamamoto Kazue, who is both Studio e.go!’s main artist and Representative Director, has announced on her blog that she has resigned as of the 17th of March after 10 years and will be leaving the Agree group, and every single one of the staff at e.go is resigning too.

She’ll be setting up a new company called Debo no su seisakujo and will be making new games there instead.

She also comments that games are made with the involvement of many different people, but she can’t work with people who have strayed from the path of a human.

Studio e.go was just celebrating it’s 10 year anniversary too. I kinda liked some of their earlier games from a long time ago.

Also, her blog gives a 404 for me on Firefox but loads fine in IE, for some reason.

So the studio is vaporized in a day, ouch.
I wonder how much of a hit this will have on the group that held it.

The blog is giving me 404 on IE, Firefox, and Chrome BTW.

“strayed from the path of a human”

What the hell? That’s cryptic. I wonder what was it then.

“strayed from the path of a human”?
Makes it sound like trying to raise the devil or something. lol.

Are eroge then the path of a human?

  5. soloista Says:

Maybe the staff were slipping into those rape/guro games.

Yes, we need more clarification on this. Coming from a female creator in an industry driven by illicit themes, I’m curious if she just woke up one day and realized what her audience was or took a detour that got her nice boat off denial.

I sortta doubt it’s related to the content of the games themselves and probably more related to work ethics or some such.

Work ethics sound more likely as issue there (a clarification would be needed indeed). I mean the Ero aspects or that she suddenly has issues to continue with it seems somewhat unlikely, given that she stayed and worked for the Brand over all those years and also via her more recently launched Doujin Circle http://debonosu.com/aka/circle.html mostly Kazue comes up with clearly adult labeld releases…

  9. TJR Says:

She’s probably referring to issues with whoever owns the company.

Given e.go’s increased output in recent years, I wouldn’t be surprised if developers are being worked to the bone.

Nooooooooooo, I guess ピュティア is still ego’s IP, so no remake, ever…

I have always enjoyed the 2D/3D turn-based battles that make Studio e.go! titles so kitsch…

I was just wondering is there a place we can go and feed our responses back to the creators of these great Anime I have been coming across. I fell upon Angel’s Feather and I would like to see more of the story in Anime. Manga is great but there is nothing like watching a story come to life.

Stories like Fruit Basket, Angel’s Feathers, InuYasha and many more are great stories that overwhelm the soul. There is nothing like it, I find myself going through many Animes hoping to come across more complete stories like Ai Yori Aoshi, Angel Tales, Air Gear and many more.

Great stories I wish, I could watch more english dubbed like Naruto, Bleach, 07 Ghost, so that I may enjoy watching the actual Anime more. I have a great desire to indulge myself in these Anime that compels the soul of so many emotions.

I hope my message get across to all of these great creators and story writers. I would love to purchase these stories on dvd uncut and unaltered dialog, so that I may get the same impact as I do from the Japanese versions.

    Thank you for listening…
