Fender staff are watching K-on too
Fender is a manufacturer of stringed instruments and amplifiers and they’re the makers for the bass guitar that is being used by Mio in K-ON. Fender Japan has a staff blog, and they actually made a post about K-on back on the 10th of April which reads:
“Wow K-on is amazing
Sakurakou keionbu… looks really exciting
And the bassist Mio is using a vintage jazz bass (the 62 JAZZ BASS), and she’s a lefty too… it’s so moe.
I have a feeling that this anime will have a really big break.
adios!”
Next you know Fender will be producing guitars with K-on art on it! adios!

You know, one of the great things about anime is the occasional influence it has on the real world. This is a good example of how anime can promote things such as music.
Music stores in Japan will definitely see a slight boost in sales because of K-ON.

lol, now thousands of fans will buy the guitars just because they appear on k-on even though they know shit about playing an instrument
amazing

Ita-guitars are going to become the new rage, at least this half of the year.

A good thing ?
I am tempted to think it’s a bad thing. Anime, or rather, moe anime (and perhaps shounen anime as well) is now, more than ever, a tool of capitalists to bank on some new trend to make quick bucks.
I can imagine the K-on faze would die out, and the guitars would fall into disuse, save for those that truly did like the series and learnt music from it.

FUCK THAT SHIT
I will cry if I see them pander to the fucking otaku K-on audience

Moe anime is lucrative, nothing new really.

New post detailing that if they want to do a live performance at budokan then they should definitely go with a TB-1200 HEAD™ in an 810 PRO CABINET™. Viva Sakurakou™ Keionbu™!!!

Hmm, I bet they’re also happy that KyoAni goofed and mislabeled the Les Paul as a Fender guitar while they were in the guitar store. ;-)

Silly anon is funny! Failed but funny! Keep it up Anon!
April 22nd, 2009 at 12:00 pm
I suppose you’re slighlty right ricewind….. I liked Haruhi not because of the moe but because it had some elemeents of hardcore SF, but put into a decent, easy-on-the-eye moe show.
April 24th, 2009 at 10:03 pm
The sci-fi elements of Haruhi are not really hard sci-fi. What made appear Haruhi a little less shallow were the things like Itsuki’s talks on the nature of Haruhiverse.

Silly goddam haters, faggotry this, gay that, bullshit this, fucking that.. doesn’t matter.
K-ON > you.
No, make that me > you. End of story.

We have to accept MOE as the latest trend in anime if it is an obscure Si Fi show like “Rocket Girls” or a more mainstream tv series like “Aria”,besides these shows provide a nice rexaling break from the nice heavy shows like “Ergo Proxy”,or”Red Garden.”Then there is “Moetan”,very intresting even the episode not broadcast in Japan is not that hardcore. Oh yes and you gotta love “Poptan”,ok so maybe Moe Shows are not everyones cup of tea.Hey! to each his own viewing tastes. NATO .
