Top 5 best selling R18 games on the Sega Saturn

Japanese blog Yomigee has compiled a list of the best selling R18 games that were released on the Sega Saturn using the top 15 best selling games list from TV game ranking data book 1995.9 ~ 1998.8.
Super real mahjong P5 was actually released before the rankings in the data book, so VG chartz was used to get the sales number.

The Sega Saturn has had the image of being THE system for R18 games, but there were only 24 R18 games that were released on the Saturn before the rating got abolished in favor of the “recommended for 18 and above” rating instead which does not allow nudity.
In fact, the X rating or R18 rating only lasted for 17 months, being introduced in 1995 April with the first R18 game Super Idol Mahjong P5 being released in May in the same year, and soon in 1996 September the X rating was abolished with Haunted Casino and Mahjong yonshimai Wakakusa monogatari as the final R18 games.

Don’t forget the ability of the SS to play Photo CD, this function open a whole new range of possibilities for the R18 CD which you can play on the system.
