Eroge is being in focus by the Japanese media
As many probably already know, Rapelay was making a lot of commotion with the western world, and Illusion had shrugged it off. But now Yomiuri has picked up on the news and NHK and FujiTV have been featuring the case on TV, and suddenly the entire eroge industry seems at risk now.
Illusion has now removed Rapelay from their website, probably in response to the attention from Japanese media, and Sofmap has reportedly told buyers that Rapelay is now out of production.
Hopefully that is enough to put the fire out, but if the media continues to attack and dig up on eroge they’ll find stuff like assemblage’s old games and we might see some new magical regulations coming soon… Maybe somebody famous will get pissed drunk and go naked in a park, that would help pull all the attention away!

I say this will cause more importations of game to the u.s. since when they try to ban music that artist sells more, so I’d say in a few months rapelay will be #1 selling eroge again or possibly more people d/ling it from other sources. Controversey sells in america and it always makes it sell more whether its american made or not.

Equality Now seems like their head is screwed on backwards on this issue.
They act just like the loony pro-life (not all, only the loony ones) people who preach things like using birth control is a form of abortion, so you shouldn’t use birth control. That last sentence describes so much of what is wrong with those people, that to have to explain it makes me doubt the intellect of the common person. That sentence says it all — and it applies directly to the people trying to censor erotic media. We all have dicks or vagina’s — and we all want sex (the normal ones, anyway. Not the fat AND ugly ones running such campaigns). So why hold back ANY expressions of erotica? They are anti-freedom and anti-expression on this issue, no matter which way you look at it.
Also, funny how they focus on woman, but not the de-emotionalization of the male psyche in today’s culture. They can go fuck themselves.

Remember folks, these are the same people who brought us the Bataan Death March, the Rape of Nanking, and Pearl Harbor. These are the same people who’ve manipulate their currency and destroyed the manufacturing base of this country. Now that the dollar has weaken and the yen has appreciated, it’s time for the Japanese to feel our pain. Destroying their anime / eroge industry is almost complete, next will be Toyota, Honda, and Nissan, and lastly their electronics.
