Online DL shop announces new restrictions

chotto tuttekuru

llpalace’s Online shop dejipare (NSFW) which deals in downloadable doujin and downloadable eroge has announced that adult works belonging to the following genres or have any content that have something to do with the keywords will be restricted, as according to the directions from an unnamed regulation body. (most probably EOCS)

  • Rape
  • Loli
  • Gang Rape
  • Sexual violence (陵辱)
  • Cruel sexual play (鬼畜)
  • Reverse rape
  • Shoujo
  • Forbidden sex (相姦) (such as adultery and incest)
  • Reverse sexual violence (逆陵辱)
  • Forced (強要)
  • Group sex (複数プレイ)
  • School council (生徒会)
  • Bestiality (not catgirls or vampires etc)
  • Bondage
  • Coercion
  • Train groping (車内わいせつ)
  • Enjo Kousai (wikipedia link)
  • Incest
  • Torture
  • Japanese bondage (緊縛)
  • Pregnant
  • Rape (強姦) (another way to refer to rape)
  • Slave
  • Pregnant woman
  • Imprisonment
  • Impregnation
  • Aside from the above keywords, words that attempt to make references to the above words such as (JC / JK / U18 / U15 etc) are also included. There may still be more words that will be added to the list.

The list does not only cover written information (including scenario, speech, hidden meanings, circle name, brand name), but images and CG (both art and real life images) are also covered in the new restrictions.

The date that the new restrictions will take effect and exact criteria on how affected media will be judged is still being decided, but will be announced soon.

Also I couldn’t think of a good English equivalent for many of the keywords, so if anybody has better suggestions for some of the keywords it’ll be great.

Edit: I missed this, but Minori is restricting foreign access to their website now apparently.

Shoujo are banned? Guess we can only play Yaoi games now.

    2. Anonymous Says:

Everybody knows that real rapers and sex perverts played eroges.
I think the feminists are banning sex/rape simulators because they’re afraid it’ll never happen to them.

    3. Anonymous Says:

If Minori’s any indication, I think more eroge makers both large and small will become more xenophobic, banning foreign access altogether.

I guess I’ll have to make do with ugly feminist porn stars with tatoos for fapping material

    4. Garrick Says:

Well, it appears that problematic genre eroge makers will have to shift to a more personal from the maker’s-site-digital-download business model, and they will have a harder time advertising themselves. However, while it could be hard in the beginning, it means that every yen that the customer pays will go into their pockets, and thus will result in higher quality works…in much more hidden places. No Law has been put into effect, after all. Given the political climate, Shin Konmeinto will become an opposition party quite soon.
It could have been much worse.

Bondage too?! This is getting more and more insane.

Will: Luckily, for some of us this is an actual option. Also, traps. But that doesn’t make the outrage any less!

      Jesus christ in heaven….
they even banned Shoujo and School council? What is left then? Happy sex? Games like Clannad? Not that there is something wrong with it, just i don’t want ONLY games like that.

    7. relentlessflame Says:

Right. It seems pretty clear now that the intent of these restrictions is to get anything “questionable” out of stores, and thus far less accessible/perceptible to foreigners and the general public. The net effect will be to drive the makers towards self-publishing, and thus “un-rated” works. That way the politicians are less tempted to enact laws, because it can be seen as the industry policing itself. That would explain why they’re “over-compensating”; they need to give the impression of taking “swift, decisive action” to address the concerns. It’s all politics…

This is fucking awful. They’re removing every good part with eroge? So what, for games with porn all we can get is a normal harem?
No pregnancy? Why? As long as it’s related to the story this should be ok…

    11. Zepy Says:

    17. Fat Cat Lim Says:

I don’t play rape games or what not, but surely this is a bit too much? It’s quite a travesty to see how one group’s protest has lead to such widespread censorship. The smaller dojin studios are going to suffer, and even more serious ones such as Tsukihime will surely be affected.

    18. T_I Says:

So, uh, this basically means that even bishoujo school love comedies (involving student council members) are banned? What the fuck.

    62. PornLovingFeminist Says:

If you think ‘the feminists’ sat down and drew up this list, learn to brain. Even disregarding the obvious that many feminists are anti-censorship, their complaint was about rape and they simply DID NOT know enough about hentai to come up with anything LIKE this list. This list was invented by the Japanese. The reasons that they have done so are complex, and are not simply “some bitches told us to”.

The restrictions suck. However, if you truly think that banning rape and loli is “basically the same thing as banning all sex!”, that’s quite disturbing. Is the concept of having sex with an 18yo girl who actually WANTS to have sex with you such a foreign concept? (Well, I suppose for some of you, the idea of anyone wanting to have sex with you is a foreign concept….)

    63. Anonymous Says:

This might actually result in a new surge of ero-less galge (if that’s not the next thing on their list), so it might have a small positive side. Not that this would sooth my burning anger or something, though.

    64. PornLovingFeminist Says:

So, uh, this basically means that even bishoujo school love comedies (involving student council members) are banned? What the fuck.

Well, assume for a second that you’re Japanese and you’re tired of being accused of making nothing but underage porn, so you want to make it very clear that you’re not doing that anymore. You’re going to *have* to get rid of all those thinly-disguised highschoolers. (I’m not saying they SHOULD do that, mind.)

It’s true that Japan has been getting an international reputation for schoolgirl fetishes, and apparently they currently find that embarassing. I wonder if there’s going to be changes in anything outside of hentai to try and dispel that image?

    65. Anonymous Says:

IT does not ban just games involving rape. Even consensual sex is not banned in ero-games

    66. Accany Says:

Oh my god. This is ridiculous. Doesn’t this mean that eroges itself is banned. The words cover like 90% of the stuff out there that’s coming out.

    67. Anonymous Says:

When they banned rape games i don’t think many people cared too much ,maybe they did but that’s kinda odd….but it’s still cartoons and by US constitution it’s legal because it doesnt harm anyone when it’s a drawing/cartoon (unless mixed with real stuff , from the cases ive heard of). this is overkill though, there’s been no evidence (even on the rape games) to suggest anyone was harmed by these games, loli, bondage, pregnant, incest…everything on this list has no link to real crimes. im actually fairly sure it’s kept some ppl in their rooms jacking off instead of out on the streets. i guess we’ll find out if japanese’s low crime rate goes up soon. this is vastly overkill, and shouldnt be legal but i dont know anything about their laws….guess ill stay in the US a bit longer afterall. rape was pretty borderline, ill agree…but everything consenual with cartoon characters/video game characters should be allowed. failure japan, failure

    68. msgundam2 Says:

I just looked though their website and all there hentai will be banned. look though the site it will all be banned.

    69. Kaisos Says:

      >are you stating this as fact?

Well, the government can touch Comiket, but the EOCS can’t.

They basically govern what can be sold in stores, as no business will sell a game not rated by the EOCS.

However, Comiket is not a commercial business, it’s the creators selling directly to the consumers.

Anything sold at Comiket does not fall under these regulations.

      Doujins are safe.

    73. KiTA Says:

They’re going to keep this up until the makers just tell the EOCS to fuck themselves and go unrated. And then the stores will have to relent, because hey, if people want to buy something and the stores are the ones saying no, people will just go elsewhere.

Other than that, what do you think the chances are they’ll just quietly repeal most of these new regs in 6-12 months after the media drops it? Because seriously, that list there, that’s like half of llplace’s adult content.

    74. Linsolv Says:

      > However, if you truly think that banning rape and loli is “basically the same thing as banning all sex!”, that’s quite disturbing.

I think the major complaint is that in the world of Eroge, you rarely see games with no major “fetish” material. I’ve seen what seemed (mostly) standard, straight, and age-of-majority games that, out of nowhere, had weird fetish (x) — Loli’s as common as brown eyes, and rape’s not exactly rare.

The one that really gets me is school council. Having read a lot of doujin in that category, I’d have to say that, more-or-less, that’s how I’d define “normal, not-at-all bizarre sex.” Yeah, sure, most of the time you’re dealing with SEVENTEEN instead of eighteen. But if you consider the percentage of 17 year olds that are having sex (certainly in the US, and signs seem to point to also in Japan) with other 17-ish year olds, which is what we’re really discussing in these games, I’d say “normal” fits.

    75. Anonymous Says:

      >However, if you truly think that banning rape and loli is “basically the same thing as banning all sex!”, that’s quite disturbing.

The distinction here is that what sort of imaginary actions you do to imaginary people is free game. No one gets to tell you what you can and can’t like so long as no real people get hurt in the process. I still don’t understand why these feminists like going around protecting imaginary people when real live people have enough problems as it is.

The regulatory bodies growing a pair and not letting some foreign group of close-minded women, ones that should not have meddled in the first place, get into their business.

    76. Anonymous Says:

      >I still don’t understand why these feminists like going around protecting imaginary people when real live people have enough problems as it is.

I don’t think the feminists are trying to protect anyone. They just get creeped out by these games (which I can sympathize with) and they want to destroy anything that creeps them out (which I can’t). Protection is nothing more than a lame excuse.

That being said, we can still continue to enjoy pure - or “relatively pure” - bishoujo games like that one Konami’s coming up with. And, of course, if some company were nice enough to release a game entitled “3D Custom Lady” or something like that *ahem*, well, what’s to prevent people from modding it with school uniforms?

On a not entirely unrelated note - Phantom of Akibahara, anyone?

That’s not the best part. The responsible organization UNICEF, is full of pedos.

One good example: “Goodwill” ambassador Joel Madden

Joel started dating Hilary Duff in 2004, when she was 16 years old and he 25. In November 2006, after two and a half years, Madden and Duff broke up.

LOL Looks like the UNICEF “goodwill” ambassadors are guilty of the crimes they call Japan “guilty of”.

For one thing. I still don’t get why is EOCS that important? I mean, why even stores accept it? Is Store somewhat bound to rating company or what? And, there is no fucking need for a rating company at all, those are 18+ titles, EVERY FUCKING ONE OF THEM, so why having a rating company? Rating companies are bullshit in general, there is no meaning in them, in the USA parents should be self aware if game is good for a kid, not some old faggots in suits playing games and deciding if it’s good for kid or not. But here, it servers even less purpose, since it’s obvious you need to be over 18 years to buy it. Srsly, every shop should just start accepting unrated games and there will be NO PROBLEM.

    92. Anonymous Says:

Thus there should be a new organization for those who despite EOCS, under which will new game be released and thus no problem. Also, I think there are more of them, or not? I think Nitro+ is not using EOCS, right?

    96. Anonymous Says:

Yeah, Nitro+ is with Contents Soft Association.

I think pressure is being placed on them as well.

    97. Anonymous Says:

It’s sad seeing people debate on if their particular kink is banned or not. And about rating, if a company does not get a rating from a KNOWN organization, it exposes itself to prosecution selling games to the public.

      >It’s sad seeing people debate on if their particular kink is banned or not.

The devil is in the details.

    99. n Says:

Homestly looking at the list of things banned makes wonder why the hell anyone would want to play such games anyway.

I have no problem with the existence of erogames per se, and without them we wouldn’t have such legitimately interesting works as Tsukihime or even Clannad (I know it’s all-ages but Key’s roots are in eroges), but frankly this list makes me wonder about the human race. Are there really people who find gang rape a turn on?

I could also do without the sexist comments and conspiracy theories. The industry is doing this voluntarily to protect itself. It’ll also probably drop the act in six months.

      Just my two cents.

    100. cube Says:

Loli is banned… shota is okay?

    101. nyanko Says:

I smell feminism all over the place. I wonder what’s the next move - turn the world into yaoi/shota and fugly old women in eroge? faminazi, huh. I’d shot some with great pleasure *one more reason to to see inglorious basterds to pick some lessons of cruelty against radical feminists*

    102. Anonymous Says:

“but frankly this list makes me wonder about the human race. Are there really people who find gang rape a turn on?”

You would be surprised. And those people don’t only consist of males either. Also, you’re disregarding the potential of those fetishes as plot devices.

      “緊縛”

That one made me cry T_T

Explicitly banning something that is really unique to Japan… in addition to not being inherently abusive at all like so many other things on that list…

    104. N(ry Says:

      >Are there really people who find gang rape a turn on?

just as there are people who enjoy stargazing or swimming with porpoises, there are people who enjoy gang rape. from a first or third person perspective.

    105. Breadcultist Says:

Was there ever a time when EOCS or CSA policy was ‘we’ll just make members comply with the law of the land, no extra rules’?

    106. KiTA Says:

I can’t believe they’re trying to ban BONDAGE. BDSM porn is LEGAL. What the hell, Japan?

I knew the current administration in Japan was hyper-conservative but christ, I didn’t expect them to go all spazmatic.

    107. seafood diet Says:

      > Are there really people who find gang rape a turn on?

Rape is actually a very common sexual fantasy. And yes, this includes women’s fantasies:

      http://findarticles.com/p/articles/mi_m2372/is_1_45/ai_n24383385/

The study also notes that the already surprisingly high percentages could quite possibly be even higher, because most people don’t want to admit that they fantasize about rape.

    108. seafood diet Says:

The study I linked to is quite long and in-depth. A summary can be found at page 14.

      http://findarticles.com/p/articles/mi_m2372/is_1_45/ai_n24383385/pg_14/

    109. seafood diet Says:

It should be noted that the study does find and emphasize that while rape fantasies are much more widespread among women than one would assume, they DO NOT seem to correlate to a desire to actually be raped in real life.

    110. Anonymous Says:

Hmm, it seems the list disappeared from dejipare’s website and instead it says there’s currently a meeting going on. Let’s see whether that’s good or bad news.

“Forbidden sex (相姦) (such as adultery and incest)” That’s ENOUGH! Adult is common!

“Enjo Kousai” WTF!?? If it’s at least a Date Rape…then that’s fine. But dating is now banned!?

If these guys really banned those things…Japanese will go MAD! Then they will turn rape to be free (not a crime any more)

I think most of us are either being to selfish in not looking at things from a different position or we’re not considering the exact cause of this.

For all we know this is only because some politician is just trying to gain support by doing something that seems moral and for the good of humanity.

looking at this from the perspective of some females these fetishes might seem very disturbing and jump to conclusions.

Such as believing that people want to live their sexual fantasies.

which there seems to be some of here.

Which I don’t like because that’s like saying filmmakers who like to produce murder films should be imprisoned because they would obviously act out the movie in reality.

Or if people use an excuse like “loli causes pedophilia” because there is some sort of correlation then does that mean that we should imprison all people who are religiously affiliated because many people have killed for religion

      Also something interesting I noticed
“reverse sexual violence” does that mean that anything non-guro is banned

That’s it! We’re spearheading a repeal petition. Boycott releases that have been cut of such material. I for one, will not stand for this. There’s NOTHING LEFT! Thanks a fucking lot! Because an American based feminist group got pissy over a Japanese game that was never released on the American market, and when it WAS released in Japan, it was released THREE YEARS AGO, ALL HENTAI IS DYING! THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH YOU GUYS?! Find these women and PUNCH THEM IN THE FACE!

I am from Europe. I am really sorry what is happening to hentai games now. Expecially adulltery. LOL. There are a lot of soap operas where a bloody slut fucks around everybody why she is happily married to the main caracter. then soap operas, Dallas everything should be banned. LOL. Addultery banning is a joke. In braveheart the qeen commits adultery as well…

All these kind of films from the USA, like cuckold, wfe swapping, wife share are not banned. Why are those not banned? They are only laughing at femenists. Fight for your companies, fight for your culture, I cant from here, I could help only with writing a petition.

      Good luck!

I just found this and feel I have to comment.

I’m a woman, and a feminist. I also love good porn (which most isn’t, alas, but mostly due to godawful characterisation, bad scriptwriting and really uninteresting subjects).

This news makes me horribly sad. Don’t blame feminists in general for being uptight prudes, because some of us have perfectly healthy sex drives and could easily match you guys in the size of our hentai folders. I love my pregnancy hentai, and I really love bondage and slave stuff and related subjects.

I can sort of empathise with groups who want to ban porn containing rape, very underage characters and so on, as it must disgust a lot of people and disturb them that there are others who enjoy it, but there’s a huge difference between fiction and what people do or want to do in real life. I don’t think anything should ever be banned in fiction - nobody’s trying to ban crime novels because they don’t approve of murder or robbery, FFS.

If the people who are trying to get these various hentai themes banned are doing it under the flag of feminism, they’re not speaking for all of us.
