Almost becoming a site about politics

Reading too much about eroge and politics makes me forget about “normal” stuff! Also Rorona seems to be pretty well received, I should go get it already…

Tears to Tiara gaiden - Avalon no nazo - announced for PS3
I was thinking “they should return Nakamura to ero and stop producing console games”, but I remembered that Nakamura’s ero art isn’t that good anyway, and I was glad. Then I remembered that Kawata is doing White Album for the PS3 and I cried.

Is that a conceptual for a figure in the bottom left? If so, it looks quite promising.

Gah god damn. Didn’t mean to double post. Oh well, better make this post worthwhile then.

They need to translate the TtT games for the English market. I enjoyed them on the PC, but from what I’ve heard, the PS3 version made a lot of improvements on the combat system as well as the additional content. Still not exactly fond of the changes in the character design though, but the battle scene shown in that preview certainly looks pretty.

As for Fairy Tail, I knew it was an inevitability when I first started reading it that it would get an anime and thankfully there is at least a good amount of content for them to go through before they risk catching up to it so they won’t have to hit filler any time soon which is generally always a killer when it comes to shounen series. I’ll look forward to it, especially since there isn’t really that much coming out in July that looks interesting to watch aside from 3 or 4.

Atelier Rorona seemed to be sold out at most of the shops I went to (Osaka Kobe area). I was surprised.

I like the 2d artwork. Unfortunately, compared to the former, the animated movie art and the in game 3d character design just clash instead of complement, IMHO.

I see what you did there.

Politics is important, esp when it involves something we enjoy.

So would TtT and Rorona be the signs of franchises that could have technically worked on crappy hardware, but instead transitioned to 3D just so that more PS3s can waste more electricity?

It has been confirmed that the reason Sony removed PS2 backwards compatibility (i.e. the emotion engine) from the PS3 is because they wanted developers to stop developing for the PS2 already (which they would continue to do if given the choice since PS2 development is cheaper, has a larger install base, and does the job for what they need, barring HD graphics).
