Most of this info below is from 2ch reports and can’t be verified, so don’t believe it 100%. Seems like the increase in kids at comiket (due to niconico) is still ongoing and it’s starting to create problems.

Oh you nutty kids. Seriously though, those line-cutting kids sound like they’d be a huge pain to deal with.
“Fight at touhou queue”
God I hope someone posts a video of that nerdrageing.

I wonder when it’ll escalate into a full scale war between the artists and the customers…

I don’t know whether to believe that people actually shat their pants or just assume that’s what the general smell of 180,000 sardine-packed otaku is on a hot and muggy August day. I’d imagine it would be difficult to distinguish between the two situations.

hmm?..why comiket need to stop?

Did I go to the same convention?
-I didn’t see any kids. (I did see some grandparents though.)
-There were no more umbrellas than usual, infact it was cooler this year than most.
-The bathroom lines were pretty long though, but they go pretty fast.
-I can’t comment on the Umineko and Touhou lines, as I am not crazy enough to get in those ‘lines’ anymore. It’s easier to just preorder them at a shop in Akiba and pick them up the next day.
The amount of people who camped overnight for Day 3 was pretty nuts though. I took a taxi at 0430, and there were atleast eight blocks of people who had slept there overnight it seemed.

I was in one of those blocks in front of West Hall (albeit they eventually sent us to East Hall through the hallway), and there were actually 10 blocks in front of West Hall and 2 or 3 more blocks on the parking lot behind the East Hall at that point. All in all, around eight thousand people were camping overnight for day 3.
After the last train they gathered all the campers into the parking lot and only moved 10 blocks to West Hall at around 03:30.

I can confirm that there was someone in East Hall 1-2-3 on Saturday who collapsed and needed serious medical help. I was buying stuff from a lady at one of the very end-tables when her circle-mate runs up to her, says someone collapsed the next row over away. Everyone went “what?” and moved to look. Sure enough, there was a small crowd gathered around what looked to be an age 30-ish guy slumped on the floor, with a Comiket staffer giving him CPR and two others asking everyone to move along.
Also, 30 minute queue upon getting in just to reach the east hall on Saturday. I love Touhou games and hate Touhou fans.

On our way around the east side of the building, by the parking lots, we were stopped by staff with pole barriers who were making a corridor in the crowd. After a few minutes, paramedics rushed out on a stretcher and into an ambulance. His face was bright red and he seemed to be having trouble breathing.
I wonder if it was the same man? I hope he’s okay.
The lines were madness. My friend and I were trapped in the cosplay changing room for over an hour because they couldn’t make room for the cosplayers to exit back into the hallways. Too much crowding!
